I have a 2008 Tacoma four-door long bed Two wheel drive.

Last couple of months I've noticed that certain freeway speeds and on certain road surfaces I'm getting a lot of feedback in the steering wheel. I have 130,000 miles on the truck. BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. Tires are in decent shape. Have rotated them religiously. Relatively new Billstine 5100 shocks.

    30mph is good
50mph is good main roads " Beach Boulevard, hb"
65 to 75mph freeways 405 and 55 lots of steering wheel feedback.

Even on some newly ground or Resurfaced freeways. Truck has always had some freeway speed feedback on some freeways.

go for a quick rotate and rebalance or bite the bullet and take it to the stealer ship and have the hubs looked at ?

Where are the 5100's set at and do you have a recent alignment sheet?

I do not have the alignment sheets anymore. The truck does not pull in either direction.

Start simple. Road Force balance. See if that fixes the problem.

Not having wheel pull does not mean it's properly aligned.

It's either low caster or the wheels need to be balanced. I can't tell if you're describing a wander or a wobble.

Tires are wearing evenly. Truck does not pull right or left at any speed.

What is the cost on a road force balance?

Also what are the signs of a bad hub?

these guys are making great comments, OP. A bad hub will be felt at all speeds, turning or not, 4x4 or prerunner.

a good test for the hub: jack up the front end, grab the wheel while its mounted and see if it has any free play/wiggle. significant free play means bad bearings.

Once again, that doesn't mean your alignment isn't the problem.

Road force balance varies from $60-$75 around here.

Road Force balancing shouldn't cost any more than a typical balance. It's all about whether the shop uses the right kind of balancing machine. Apparently just any old balancer doesn't always do the trick on Toyota wheels.

Makes me think low caster. Truck has ALWAYS had "freeway feedback".

Road Force balancing seams to have fixed my troubles. The tec and desk guys both have Tacoma's. Took longer to BS about trucks then doing the work. Only have taken the truck one some short freeway drives. Monday morning will be the long road test.
