This thread will continue to be updated as I put mods on my truck. As on May 31, 2015, I have had my brand new 2015 Tacoma Off-Road for just under 7 months. Please feel free to comment and give me your honest opinions and ideas!!

I've now added Spidertrax Wheel Spacers and removed both sets of mud flaps. I've got the first coat of Plastidip on the front Toyota emblem. Pics to come!

Dipped the front emblem (four coats). I had previously practiced using plastidip only one other time and it was on the chrome handle of my toolbox.

Mud flaps=gone (a long overdue mod for the back ones, I had taken the front ones off in December).

Yeah I think eventually I'll debadge the sides but I wanted to try it out first. I'm getting good at it now, maybe I'll start doing other people's trucks/cars for extra $$

Doesn't hurt. I love that stuff. I have done all the chrome on my wife's car also.

I suspect that if you care for your paint, you'll be reinstalling your mud flaps. Take a 50 mph spin down a gravel road to find our why. Or not.

I don't plan on going 50 mph down a gravel road..more like 15 mph. But I understand your point. However, I bought a truck, not a sports car. I expect to get it dirty and banged up.

I would prefer to not have rocks fly up and damage my truck. If I can prevent any da,age I will.

I see so many trucks on the road and guys on TW without mud flaps and they all look fine. So I guess they don't do much off-roading haha

Just got back from Shelby county IN where the state is "chip sealing" a state highway and thought about you going 15 mph - LOL

I painted the wheels black. I bought three cans of matte black but only used one, I couldn't believe it. And that was with four coats. Add two light coats of clear coat on top of that. I prepped them by thoroughly cleaning them with wheel cleaner, and then lightly used 320 grit sandpaper to get the paint to stick. I then wrapped a trash bag behind each wheel to protect the brakes and rotors. After I finished, I cleaned the tires with the foaming tire cleaner (can't recall the name of it). That was after these pics were taken, obviously.
