The Official Gym & Fitness Thread

Our lower weight DBs have a couple sets of each. 25s and below. If it's busy on arm day it gets annoying trying to share 30s and 40s. I'm one of the only people who uses anything above 50 in there though so chest day I can hog it all. I had to literally wipe the dust off of the 75s when I first joined. (Sadly, 75 is the max my DB rack goes...)

 

Our golds only went up to 100lbs. Me and my buddies kept putting notes in the recommendation box for larger Dumbbells. Eventually they caved and got 105,110,115,and 120s.

 

we have been trying to get #120-140s but they said they don't want to attract " that " kind of people as an exact quite. I said to them look, I'm a normal guy and not one of those "people" what or how many reps do you want me to do with the 110s. Said i need to do 20, did 20 and said they just wanted to see it. FFS

I think what helped with us was that the next town over golds had their machine hack squat break on them. Since not a lot of people used that at our gym they swapped the Dumbbells for our machine. Works for me

 

I want a hack squat machine and a super cat machine so bad. They had them in my high school gym, which was years before I started lifting. Looking back I'm always bummed I didn't take advantage of that stuff.

 

Since you are out in AZ man one of these day we need to get together.

 

This. My gym doesn't have either, and I want them so badly.

 

I need to start doing squats on the squat rack. I've been using the machine. Is using the machine bad?

That's weird. Some sort of hybrid hack squat leg press machine. My gym has a leg press machine but you sit upright. I only use it for calf raises and put the ball of my foot on the pad. I do all my squats in the rack

 

We got those too but they seem to be all taken up before I get there. Anyways, since I've been struggling with my squats, I've been using this. Lol

 

only way you're gonna get better at squating... is by squating. load that bar up an get under it!

I think I'm gonna take a break from caffeine for a while. I took a pre that had like 450mg of caffeine at 6pm tonight and 5 hrs later I'm still feeling the effects

I've been wanting to take a break from my pre lately (300 mg of ceffeine), but I've been so damn exhausted lately when I'm leaving work that I've been taking it anyway.
