New Product! Eezi Awn K9 Roof Platform for 2nd gen Tacoma

Those that recognize the name know they are the gold standard of overland rack systems. The cruiser and rover guys have had this option for a long time now. The clean lines, high strength, mounting versatility, and superior quality make this one of the best rack platforms available.

I've recently been in contact with Paul May of Equipt Expedition Outfitters about this kit (US distributor for Eezi Awn) after seeing the Tacoma on the web series Xpedition Overland outfitted with a K9 rack.

The Tacoma kit is FRESH off the presses and should be added to their website any day now (you can order by phone now). Kit includes the platform 1250x1400mm (50"x55"), (6) feet, a pair of 1400mm rails (contour matched to the roof channels of the tacoma & bolts to factory mounting points). Price is $1050 w/ free shipping.

I'm definitely going with this setup on my '15.

The rack looks solidly built & I like the slim LED lights on the track. Well implemented.

However, what justifies the $1050 price tag? I'm assuming the LEDs are an additional cost.

 

Correct the LED strip is not included.

While I see your point (the price is twice that of a Baja Rack) however it also is several hundred cheaper than Gobi.

The product is imported from South Africa so that probably adds cost as well.

 

If you got it spend it on quality, even tho the front runner is 800, i dig the look and advantages of the runner, does the 1050 i clude the cap rack?

Yep... Nice looking rack but doesn't look much different than the FrontRunner I've got. Plus the amount of available options for the FrontRunner and the price difference would turn me away from that rack. But I'm a little biased.

EDIT: In fact it looks as though they kind of copied a few features from FrontRunner

Wow dude, well in Those pics its shown with both cab and cap. I didnt look them up , tried to but never found an actual k9 rack site just forums, but hey im sure you will make sure im not confused by posting it up!

Thanks. It's a aluminum Pelfreybilt bumper. All in with lights and paint I've got about $2300 in it.
