2jz...who's done it?

My brother has 2 of them in a trailer in his backyard for his drift cars. Willing to let one go to me for 1500, including harness and some goodies. Seen a few that've done it but no write ups. How deep do you have to go to get this done?

Easier than a second gen for sure. Since the trans bell housings canbe swapped.

 

I'd count on swapping the trans as well, t56 2jz should be sweet

 

Yeah 500whp to an r150 4x4 is pretty much maxed out there. A chevy trans would be a much better option. Lucky with a second gen you get more under the hood room. Well you could run an r150 in a 2nd gen because you just need to custom adapt the driveshaft.

Do companies build the R150?

 

I know marlin crawler works on them. Not sure if it is a race style upgrade. I haven't tried doing too much research on it.

 

I posted a picture of a completed 2nd gen a while ago. 6-1 header, into single turbo. Sliced the factory transmission's bell housing to weld on an adapter.

Great engine attached to a sub par transmission.

 

Whoa, that much work to adapt to the stock trans. How sad.

 

Yeah. Precisely.

Although the 4x4 function was still kept. The R150, or the Land cruiser's transmission would both be better options, from a modular and buildable point.
