So i am looking at doing a LED headlight kit on my truck, and doing my research on brands and best ones to do. But my question is what is the difference between the ones with fans and ballasts and ones without. lifespan? temp? any issues with one or the other? Cant really find much information about ETI 2S bulbs compared to the ones with ballasts and fans.

The best headlight upgrade is a proper HID retrofit. The second best would be higher output halogen bulbs.

To answer your question, the ones with ballasts are typically going to have higher output (lumens) than non-ballest leds ... and the ones with fans cool better. I haven't seen any leds that are sold with ballasts that didn't also have fans though. My VLEDS led headlights and fog lights have both. Love them.
