Sweet. That year is the last year for the UCON to work no questions asked if you want to do some tuning too. Just don't let your friend take you financially for the "buddy discount" lol.

Best of luck with your LT build. Make a thread so that those of us who can only dream of LT can follow your progress :D.

In the long run it will be cheaper to buy an already built truck if you aren't planning on doing all the work yourself. Fab rates are pretty high depending on the shop, and unfortunately you don't get out what you've put into the truck when ready to sell lol

Is the truck you are buying stock, or does it already have some things done? Lots of good 2nd gen LT trucks out there for sell right now. All the way from just a front LT kit installed to fully built, caged and ready to rock n roll. How much are you buying the 2008 for?

I agree, TS should look into an already built rig.

I think im gunna pass on my buddy's tacoma and because i found this on craigslist https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/5181326544.html it looks everything's already been done to it and it would be cheaper than buying my buddy's tacoma and all the things to make LT

Thanks on posting the link. I will now buy this before you do and sell it to you at a higher price. ;)

    Good luck with the truck.

Why stir shit? OP is buying a pre built Ranger and a mod already said to chill?

You're a day late on that party. Even still, let it lay.

So long travel makes you a whore. Good to know.

How about we listen to the nice mod and play like adults in here. I'm following OP but can do without the dick swinging. If you want to do that, the 3rd gen forum is open for the season.

Because it defeats the purpose of a technical forum when folks just parrot what they hear others post rather than rely on their own experience and knowledge. The dude has never ridden in an LT truck and he is all over the LT forum handing out "advice".

    That's funny.

This isn't the technical thread.. so call him out elsewhere.

Not much point to come in here and point and laugh just to stir up dust that has already settled.

OP didn't ask a technical question and nothing parroted was incorrect. I fail to see your point. Perhaps you should follow the mods advice or make a BS thread about people BS 'ing about long travel and how it offended you a day after it happened well after the matter was settled.

Based off the CL ad you linked to, race-dezert.com will be your friend.

Lots of built trucks in socal are sold on that forum.

OMG a day later!?!?! Somebody call a whambulance! This is a tech forum where dudes who build trucks, not post counts, share knowledge and experience; and sometimes make fun of each other and/or funny new guys.

Like warning the OP that a Ranger on beams, like the one he linked, while cost effective and indestructible, will not handle as precise as a well built IFS truck.

Or pushing him towards the lighter first generation Tundra vs. a 2nd generation tundra. Because weight matters more than anything else for a starting platform.

Or making him aware of another forum that moves a lot of used, built prerunners. Race-dezert.com

Or telling him to buy RJ's fully built truck, if he's okay with a 2WD. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rjallday702s-for-sale-thread.387485/

    Okay.

I'll let you get back to you professional TECH FORUM where making fun of guys after the mod has shut it down is the adult, tech minded, thing to do. Maybe if you had of started with those comments, instead of waving your dick in someones face, I'd have some respect for you.
