TRD supercharger availability update

That pitsburgh earthquake is not great if you don't oil it religiously and if you run it at the rated 90 psi. I run 165 at the compressor. . After line loss and filter etc I get about 135 at the gun.

I am limited by the 3/8 line. I stay 3/8 because its just easier to mess with than 1/2 lines. If you run quality fittings it still works great.

I run Milton couplers, and Amflow 1/2 air water separators x2 followed with a 1/2 Amflow oiler.

And I run a 2 stage compressor. 5hp 60 gallons. I was worried that it wouldn't keep up with my tools because the CFM is lower than a single stage (12.5 @165) 15 @ 150 but so far it keeps up great with the sand blaster, impacts, needle scaler. Anything I want to run. Being 2 stage has the added benefit of kicking on to refill at a higher pressure so if I am running 90 at the line for my blast cabinet the pressure never dips with the compressor starting around 120.

 

The only brand impact thats comparable in my opinion are the 1/2 and 3/8 competition from the top of the line Snap Off. But thier guns are heavier. Back to back they are almost identical in performance, except the Snap Off junk costs 2wice as much and breaks down more.

I have rebuilt my 3/8 one time. It didn't need it but I did it anyway. The MAC gun I have needs rebuilt again. Rebuilt it 2wice and it has been sitting since it shit out. It was weak anyway in comparison.

 

That's what I hear from buddies who have the Snap on stuff. Pricey stuff that breaks down. I love the IR stuff when it comes to air tools

 

Yeah no shit. Some of their tools can't be beat, except in cost. But many can be beat for much less.

Almost all of my snap on pry bars are broken, and all of my harbor freight pry bars keep going. Same thing with my orange dead blows. I have 2 snap ons that shattered when cold. The harbor freight orange dead blow is the same size, and works just as good but I have not shattered one yet and they are 4 bucks on sale.


All of my combination wrenches are SK but I would really like either Wright tools wright grips, or snap on flank drive plus. Those two are the bees knees for combination wrenches.

 

LOL it's funny when Harbor Freight stuff beats out so call "quality" name brands. This is where you don't get what you pay for here. BTW I like the SK hand tools. I'd get the SK before I get the Snap On stuff but that's just based on personal experience and not on word of mouth or hearsay.

 

Wow! Just think, you could have bought one Snap On to replaced all that!

My IR impact wrench took the engine pulley bolt right out.
After I oiled it again and ditched the 3/8" coil line and went direct to the 1/2" hose. Before that it just hammered away with no effect.

Getting the 207ft-lbs torque applied took some effort.

 

Re flash is done. No problems at all. Rainy day here in North Carolina so I cannot hook up very well to test, but is running strong!

$55 re flash fee.

Why hook up? Rain means you can just peel out of the dealership for a good 10 minutes

 

I could have but I want the Ecu to have a few miles to learn. First time I punched it I was spinning the back tire going 50mph in the rain.

PS, supercharged 4WD burnouts are win. Only did mine for a few seconds when i hit a nice big patch of open dirt, and man it was fun
