    Did you say Horse power?
I'd put your insurance company in charge of collecting for both the damage caused by the other driver AND the damage caused by the tow truck driver. You paid good money to the insurance company to protect you from damage. Let them do the work. You've done your part to document the scene and the damage the best you could, now let your broker, the carrier and the carrier's high priced attorneys do what you paid them to do. If they don't, then you can add your broker and your carrier to a suit for damages.

Depending on your broker/carrier, you may have to push them but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

One can never have too many light bars.
I would show all this to your insurance company and see if they will deal with the towing company. A single person going against a towing company on a claim isn't nearly as effective as a large multinational insurance company going after the towing company.

Wow that accident sucks, good thing you didn't get hurt, as for the flatbed driver he can be as sorry as he wants.. Bottom line he screwed up and needs to pay for damages done. Notify your insurance company give them full details of companies name and info. Also include all pics you have. His company pays high insurance to run those trucks.

btw, who called the flatbed? Police or did u have AAA tow it.

I agree on having your insurance go after both. My last ordeal with a tow truck driver, and my dodge Dakota, wasn't good. Idiot hooked my front axle and messed it up good. They paid for all new parts and services to it so I wouldn't tell my insurance company.

Glad you're OK. Sorry about your truck and then the drop from the flatbed. Give it to your insurance company to deal with. That's part of what you pay for.

^^^This. You've got better shit to do and that's what your insurance company does on a daily basis. Rely on their expertise while keeping a close eye on how it's going. I've got USAA. Bet I'd call them, E-mail those pics and sit back while they got it all straightened out. Sorry about the pun. Good luck!!

If they do police towing they are under contract and are required to hold a certain amount of insurance coverage. Notify your insurance, give them the story and request the the underside of your truck be inspected for damage. Good luck OP.

if the frame got damaged, the insurance company more than likely is going to total it and give you what is worth from the blue book. Make sure to take it to a toyota dealer for damage evaluation and cost. I f the insurance calls it totaled, I call dips for the skewp hood!

I just don't know, terps2005, but the more I think about it and look at the pictures of your truck, I can't help but believe your best outcome would be if the insurance company totaled your truck. Particularly if you have some kind of gap insurance, or if you don't owe too much on your truck. Also, since you may be dealing with three insurance companies, you may want to consider an attorney to help keep them all honest. Hope you get a rental vehicle to drive during all this. Additionally, if the company storing the vehicle alerts the insurance company that they will be charging a high storage fee, the insurance company will have an incentive to settle up faster. What a mess.

I can't be any help on the accident part, but with the way the truck is sitting on that roll-back, I'd probably demand they have the driveshaft checked to make sure it's not bent. I could be wrong, and someone correct me if the driveshaft is tucked up further than I think it is on a stock Tacoma, but it looks like the entire weight of the rear of the truck is forcing the driveshaft to compress the rear suspension.

That is, if they don't total it.

Based on the pics do you think it's totaled? I know it's hard to say based on that. The front suspension took a shot and it broke pretty much every piece that could possibly connect to the wheel. The airbags didn't deploy as it was a side impact directly on the wheel. If they don't total it will this truck ever be the same?

Went to the collision shop to get my stuff and took some more pics...hurts to see it like that! There are scrapes on the frame, gas tank and drive shaft so it definitely hit the driveshaft. I'm waiting on the insurance adjuster to come out now.
