So I am about to mount a light bar below the grill. I already removed that small plastic grill thing and was looking to screw into that aluminum bumper to mount the bar. So my question is how hard is it to screw into that aluminum bumper and what kind of screws should I use? I might also use some sort of 90deg bracket to mount the bar closer to the front.

but is that difficult or just a simple cordless drill can do it?
The bar comes with a mount but it might sit too far back so i would use the mounting bracket that it comes with along with the 90 to make it closer to the front because it is mounted at about fog light levelish

It took me 3 self tapping screws iirc because I burn up 2 on each side.

precisely like that and i think the reason I cant use the mount you talked about is because the mount my bar comes with makes it too tall so i have to mount it back etc etc. is that the rigid mount with a non rigid light bar?

Hmm yeah idk if they will work with it being 32" unless they count the mounting brackets as 1" on each side it will be to big

yeah well the last picture has the dimensions and the bar itself is like 30.1 or whatever that is the same as the rigid but im not sure how much lower it makes it like maybe .??? inches?

If I still had my brackets I would say lets give it a shot since your in flag too
But if it's close to the same as the rigid the mounts will allow for a little bigger/smaller I personally would try it before I drilled into the bumper mounts

I self tapped screws by HAND.... didn't feel like taking my grill or bumper off and the drill wouldn't fit... You can do it! plus 80 bucks for the mount is doubling your project price!

it was that easy to screw into??! and the mount was 30 but still i might try it without anything first and see if i can squeeze it in there. We like it nice and tight at this household
