Since it's just me doing the work an I-beam would be a bit much. And it won't be seen as it will be wrapped with drywall and pretty tame. I'm just debating how hard I want to work on this. The attic is all blown in and I have zero desire to do anything that involves me and the attic. I'm going to do some sketchup later to getter a better visual.

And the shop well it's one of those family issues and I've had it. It used to be my zen spot not so much now. I rushed a project for me yesterday that I put a bit of time into and made some nice firewood, so it's time for a change.

The 1 3/4" build up plies are manageable if you are on your own if you are a crafty fella

It will be lvls. I've built lol beams that had to be lifted into place with machinery. I'm still not sure of the span yet. So one side is the living room the other is the kitchen. In between sits the basement steps. I'm thinking knee wall both sides to open the space up. The dining area was expanded into the garage (fucking worthless addition by the previous owner) and the wall that's on the right from the living room is the one I'm not sure off. My plan for it is to strip to the studs and fit it out as a bookcase that's open on both sides. She wants it gone with means a bigger header. I'd like to leave a colum (my phone tried to autocorrect that to cillivated wtf) at the end of the steps to make things easier on me and keep the one knee wall stiffer.

Oh god they get so F-ing hot. Especially if you use the extendy wand thing! They're super useful for getting stripped bolts out though.. you can cut grooves into them and heat the bolt up at the same time. Then you just tap a size smaller socket on and it spins off almost by itself. Overheating Dremels FTW!

Picked up another Allit case from Lee Valley during their Free Shipping event last week to add to the one I use for cabinet installation fasteners

Now all my loose drill bits that used to roll around in the bottom of a bucket are organized

    Metrics , Standards , Spades , Forstners , Twists , Tapers , Oddballs etc

Lol look what showed up on my doorstep.

I have a pile of the dewalt ones to organize things. And one empty one I use on site when installing things that come with a lot of small bags.

Yes. It was hard to find a look and Suze but I'm happy with these.
    And this for the backspash.

I should have split the post up better, about the organizers. The only thing I hate is the dewalt ones are a suitcase style and so far it's been dumped out twice on this job. And I'm tired of sorting metal stud screws.

The Allit ones are suitcase style too , I purposely have trained myself to latch toolboxes like these after I go into them , nothing worse than dumping everything all over a client's brand new floor
