I run a Rinehart 18+1 . More money up front but this thing lasts forever. I'm shooting field points and broadheads into it. I bought it to shoot with a few buddies thinking we were going to take advantage of their guarantee (If you shoot out all 18 sides within a year, they'll replace it with a new one free). That didn't happen.

Buy it from Lancaster Archery. I picked up the "factory blemished". It's 90$ vs the regular price of 130$

I bought a blemished as well. They told me the warranty does not apply.

    I blew mine up.

Nice! Looking forward to a review once you decide and have the pack in hand.

SWEET!! that guy in idaho selling them is a nice man. i think you are going to love that damn pack..i am jelly.

my current daypack is a Mystery Ranch Dragon Slayer. just like the longbow but without the NICE frame. i am questioning the meat loading abilities, but it is the best pack i have ever worn when i shoot my bow. but i think it will trip up when i tip an animal over faaaar from my truck. i'm kinda worried. but the LONGBOW is the answer..but i heard that the load lifters make it less bow shoot friendly.

i am gonna keep my $$ in my pocket. i kill something..i'll pull the big brother card and make my brother carry most of it.

So, game changer. Stone Glacier has been in the top running for a bit...it was between MR and SG for a bit (bozeman knows their packs). I just found the sky series to be a bit big for the amount of days I could hunt (3-4 days max) this season since I have to be a college student as well. The exo had a better price point but I wasn't completely sold on the pack. The new frame seemed cool but I wasn't quite ready to dive in and trust internet reviewers. I had read a few odd ball reviews on the exo packs as well. Many loved the pack but others seemed to move back to Kifaru, MR, SO, etc after a year. I am unsure if these packs were before the 2015 update but I had to be weary regardless. I found similar reviews for other pack companies but it seemed to be a smaller number of people with SG. I would have liked to try out Kifaru but the build time would leave me without a chance to train with it.

I decided to look over the SG packs one more time and some how managed to miss the solo pack. What I like most is the simplicity of the design. I have always been the barebones kind of guy that doesn't need tons of pockets or fancy attachment points. I am also someone who attempts to purchase items that I can use with various hobbies. My tent, SO 4 man Tipi, works well for car camping, backpacking, and as a ice fishing shelter. I believe this pack will easily replace my Kelty bags and double for my backpacking/fly fishing bag. I can see use for it at work when I am in the field helping build enclosures for toads (hauling heavy loads a mile through marsh fields).

Anyways, I just placed my order over the phone. With the military discount the pack was dropped into the same price range as the exo (unsure if they give a military discount, wouldn't surprise me if they did). I have 30 days to use the pack and make sure it will be the proper fit for me. If for some reason I don't like the fit/frame/weight hauling capabilities then I will be returning it and ordering the EXO.

They are getting it packed and shipped today so I should see the pack early next week :woot:

    The Solo is sick. Nice.

It's just one cavernous bag right?

If my lovely wife wouldn't scream. I'd buy one of each and try them all. Then sell the others I didn't like. Or liked less.

Yep, basically a duffel. It has one pocket I believe for small items and then you can attach lids/pockets for more room.

ill probably pick up a new pack next year and sell this one off if it doesn't fit my needs like I think it will. I wish there was a store with all the packs ready to try on with various loads. Being in Wyoming, everything is around me but nothing is near me.

Got my pack yesterday. I became familiar with how all the straps worked and played with the load shelf. I just got done scrounging up 51lbs of random stuff and I am going to test the pack on a short walk around town with the pup. I had 80lbs but decided to hold off on the heavier loads until I know the pack is fitted right and it's not going to fail a few miles from home.

Hey guys, looking for some advice. Fucked up and hit this guy waaay far back this evening. Waiting until morning to look for him. What do you think the chances of it being a fatal hit are? I know its way back, but sometimes...

Looks like a gut shot... With any luck he'll be bled out by morning but the meat may not be too good

Gah that really sucks! That is my biggest fear since this is my first time hunting. I told myself I need to be within 30 yards or I won't take the shot. I am just a tad shakey at 40 and it isn't worth it for me.

You're behind the liver up in the colon. Have seen one whitetail shot there by a buddy and I tracked her down and he shot her in the bed. She was hurting. Knew we were there but didn't get up. Keep looking and you will probablyy find him

Yup. Unless there's no tracks anywhere don't give up. Elk are resilient but you'll find him

Yea, I have some spots I'm going to check out Saturday. The bed was the last sign of him. No blood leaving it. It was 800 yards from where I stuck him. It was going straight uphill too. Super shitty feeling. Never lost an animal before.

I have an archery elk bull tag for unit 5BN in northern Arizona. Leaving next week for about 10 days. It took 6 years to draw. The hunt before took 8 years to draw. My friend Jack killed a 6 by6 bull and his son a 5by5 bull. Hope this will be my turn. I shoot a PSE Bow Madness. Good luck to anyone going hunting.
