    Didn't fly it long enough to know... they claim 30 minutes so I'd safely say around 20 minute endurance.

    They say about 600 meters... I don't push range on these toys... Too much can go wrong when it's outside visual range.

    Well, this P3 is easy as f*ck to fly and film thanks to you guys suggesting practice on a Blade over a year ago!

    Still looking at gps tracking - Marco Polo and Trackimo are strong contenders. I'll be flying all over the states, but some places outside of cell coverage, so that has me worried. Any advice?

    I wouldn't worry about it to be honest... 90% of "flyaways" are user error...

    If you want a tracker just find a lightweight unit

    Bueller? I'm not sure how much I'd use 4k, but it seems like $200 is kind of negligible. And I'd hate to need it and not have it.


    I'm also hoping to attend a new fliers seminar here in a few weeks put on by a nearby quad shop. Should be informative.

    4k is nice, but if you lack the screen resolution or processing power to view and edit it properly, then its kind of a waste. Most of the prosumers that fly 4k use that size to crop the video down.

    A'ight, thanks for info. The DJI app seems to track nicely, but I need a backup.

    I bought this 4k for tv purposes, mainly so they can crop the blades when they come into frame - or so I've heard. :) The industry is moving into 4k anyway, so I figured I'd get a good amount of time with this thing until it gets phased out for some higher resolution.

    So my iPad is too old to run the dji pilot app, figured it would be. I remember seeing an ad on TV for a "tough" tablet, they showed it being dropped downstairs and was fine, and I think it was only like $100 or so. Thought about maybe getting one just for quad use but can't remember what it was called. Anyone know? I thought maybe the a Kindle Fire but I'm not sure that's the right one.

    Wait three more days until the 9th of this month. Apple is introducing new products, one of which is probably an iPad mini 4 which means the mini 2 will be on sale. I bought a mini 2 and have my receipt on me in case the price drops. I used my phone for a few days first. Maybe you can get a mini 2 at a pawn shop.

    And now that I've played with mine, do you even need a gps? The Pilot App has a Flight Recorder and you can replay your entire flight overlayed onto a gps map. I imagine you'd be able to at least know the general spot where it lands.
