It's 9/3 why isn't the 2016 on Toyota's website?

I'm not impressed with the way Toyota is marketing the new model. Do they just expect people to rush to the dealer and buy one with no information except what we can get from 3rd parties? This is a joke...Get your act together Toyota!

I agree and wonder if they do that to help the dealers get rid of the remaining 15's.

Pretty sure clearing inventory. Although it is frustrating to see 2016 corolla, camry, tundra, and no tacoma.

Like any good business you clear inventory before pumping up the new product too much or you realy have to discount prices.

However, I'm not sure toyota has much to worry about. Even 1st gen has a cult following

Lots full of 2015s that were only properly priced a few weeks ago. I think they might have over done it on production but then again this is my first year observing. Is it always like this with a new model release and are there always so many older models sitting there? I still think the economy is at play. The number of people with $30K+ to throw into a new midsize truck is dwindling. We are the outliers.

actually they are waiting for the current specials/incentives to end before releasing new info. current incentives ends on 9-8 and the new incentives start on 9-9.

New incentives you say? But I thought the 2016 was a special unicorn truck that only existed in our dreams and we had to pay $39K for the right to mortal combat to claim one of the 11 of these mythical cars ever produced? Hopefully there is an incentive that doesn't involve the dealer putting both hands on my shoulders and rhythmic wet slapping sounds.

I never said the Tacoma specifically, I said current incentives/specials they have currently going on. they do sell other vehicles and currently they have all but the Tacoma with specials/incentives.

hey we could get lucky and have a 20th anniversary special on the Tacoma, like they did with the 4runner and its 30th anniversary discount.

Dealer up here had over 30 2015 Tacoma's about 3 weeks ago. They're down to 19 now and 2 are still in transit from Toyota to their lot.

oh forgot to add, when they did the 30th anniversary discount on the 4runner, they didn't release it until after the 1st of the year. those early adopters got screwed, including me when I bought mine in dec-2013.

There is still 8-10 tacomas out front at the dealership across the road from my house. I bet there trying like hell to clear them out right now. Another week and the Tacoma build site should be active i would guess.

Think you're right. Says 6 days left on the clearance event on the main page. http://www.toyota.com/

It is like on the news...stay tuned...the weather is up next! Probably trying to build anticipation because they know they have a turd on their hands...

Cars.com must be referring to the facelift of the 2014 model year as another generation. You are correct, still on gen 5.

Does Toyota update the website to people in certain regions differently? Maybe CA folks are seeing it because they are where the first batch of 2016's went.
