Ok, I tried to search specifically for the answer to this question, but I didn't see anything directly. I have a 2011 DCSB V6 Sport 4x4 and am considering picking up one of the new 2016 DCSB configurations. I would like to take my accessories with me if possible. Does anyone know at this point if the OEM accessories from the 2005-2015 Tacomas will be cross compatible with the 2016 models (just drop in/bolt on)? Specifically I would like to take my bed mat, running boards, exhaust tip and skid plate with me. Like I said, it may be to early to answer this question but maybe someone is in the know. Thanks.

I doubt the skid plate would be compatible, but Seatbelt Sweers said all 2016s would include a skid plate standard (probably to reduce underbody drag). I don't know if it will match the quality of the 2nd gens'. Since the frame and cab design is basically the same, aside from some material alterations, I'd put my money on cross-compatibility.

The factory skid plate is actually the same between 2015 and 2016, however, it is under the bumper, while most aftermarket ones come up further and will likely hit the bumper on the new 2016, though you won't know for sure until you try I suppose. The running boards will likely fit, but again there are some changes to where the wheel openings are and that sort of thing. I've seen step bars not fit properly for even smaller changes (2008 to 09 RAV4 they made some changes that caused some step bars not to fit, though the newer designed ones fit both for example). Exhaust tip will likely fit, but without measuring the pipe diameter it's hard to know with 100% certainty.

Basically, it's hard to know for sure right now what will and what won't fit. I would be very, very surprised if the bed mat didn't fit, it should.
