Which HID conversion kit is the brightest and best

I rode in a tundra that had been converted to HID and it was unbelievable but he had already replaced 1 ballast and was getting ready to replace both ballast and I keep reading a bunch of different things but I want to get it right the first time help me!!! Thanks

 

If you really want to do it right the first time you should go for a full retrofit. It'll cost you around $900 or so but if you sell your OEM housings you can recoup a lot of that, and your lighting will be safe for other drivers. HIDs may look good too you behind the wheel but other drivers are saying "fuck that guy" because the light is scattered all over the damn place like Rock Lobster said. On top of that these cheap HID kits are likely to fail as your buddy has found out.

Not to mention a full projector retrofit is going to look badass.

 

Thanks man, I have been looking at 2 different housings, one smoke or slightly tinted and 1 chrome more like the stock housing would love if anyone had pictures of there Tacoma's with a andel eye halo aftermarket housing for the projector style housing for his lights. My projector retrofit was nowhere near $900 more like $300. I got it thru @TRSAndrew who works at the Retrofit Source. They give a TW discount. They are local in Atlanta you can go pick up your items there in the ship. The light output is astounding and will blow away the stock configuration I got the 55w ballast, mini projectors, Apollo shrouds and the switchback halos! The components are top notch and Andrew was great to work with.

Here are pictures of the retrofit with just the halos on showing the switchback function etc.

 

I am sure he was meaning for someone to do it and sell it instead of all DIY material.

If the OP doesn't want to DIY I believe @TRSAndrew offers that as a service for a fee and can do some pretty neat things to the projectors and bowls and housings etc.

 

Yeah I was referring to if you bought them pre-done/all in by someone here on TW. $900 just for parts would be a damn ripoff and no one would ever retrofit except die hard headlight nuts.
