How are these tires as it relates to retaining sand/stone in the threads?

Small pebbles stick in the tread pretty readily. If I drive over gravel or a construction area I hear them hit the wheel wells once I hit pavement.

I've even seen tiny pebbles lodged in the siping.

    Haven't done sand yet.

Thx. That's my only concern with getting these tires.

Still enjoying mine! Close to 4k miles on mine so far. I think i put them in with 2,800 on the truck. I'm at 6,998 miles right now. Tread looks great.

Still grab lots of pebbles though. Ha-ha. I've been down one first service road with them this summer. Not a 4WD trail granted. But they felt sure footed.

Don't get the LTX At2's if you are concerned about stones... mine hold lbs of them from my gravel driveway. I have to image the Ms2's would be better for that.

    No mods whatsoever!
Do your AT2's have loud road noise? I haven't had my truck aligned yet, but man they have some hum to them.

Thanks. I have no desire to get the AT's. If I get these, it will be the LTX M/S2's.

Because that wasn't the OEM tire size maybe?

Mine came with 245/75/16 from the factory. Using the same rims with my 265/70/16 Michelin's.

You're very likely correct- due to not being stock size. I've found that a lot (most) of those "fits your vehicle" tools on auto parts websites are often incorrect or excessively limiting. You just have to educate yourself/consult advice on TW, etc. The 265 70/75-16 should both fit if no other mods have been made.

Just curious- why did you choose 265/70 and not 265/75? I upgraded to the MS2 but went with the stock 245/75. I am regretting that decision and plan to trade up.

My Taco came stock with the BFG Rugged Trails @ P265-70-R16, so that that's the size I'd like to put on there. I'm fearful that since the P265-75-R16 is a taller tire, that it might rub during cornering, etc.

    The 265-75-16 are:
    1 inch larger in diameter
    same width.
3" or 3% more in circumference
3% diff in the speed. ie when reading 65 you are going 67

I would guess the tires would fit ok.

In most tacos (newer tacos), the speedo reads high from the factory (i.e. real world speed = 65mph, but speedo reads 68mph). When you move from stock 245-75 to 265-75, the speedo will likely be spot on.

I'm not concerned about the speedo in going to 75's. Like I said, I'm worrying about possible rubbing during cornering or big bumps.
