Frames where only replaced because the lawsuit. Praising Toyota for doing what they were ordered is like praising serial rapist for stayign n prison to get his sentence done.
    Its idiotic.
If you talkign about leafs braking there are plenty people who got their leafs failed, and it was enough to issue recall, so your statement is again weird...
NHTSA does not play, if there is NHTSA number they already figured out there is something seriously wrong.
"Voluntary" recall is more like telling cop you were bringing this stolen car to the original owner.
I am not bashing specifically Toyota here because all car manufacturers are guilty of that. Some more then others but Toyota is not with out fault.
Lets see what they going to do with 2009+ frames.

    No way Jose.
Last thing I want is a truck from Mexico with car motor from the same line that died on so many people. Thats like double fkup. I can only take chances on part of the truck not on whole thing, but by all means people should get it. I want that rear bumper for my 2gen.
My new pickup is not going to be Tacoma for sure.
Oh and to comment on looks

Same here ... My 2013 has only 21K miles and runs perfectly. I'm waiting for initial feedback (and for bugs to be worked out) on the 2016 and will then consider the 2017 model. What I'm looking for ... 1) long overdue cabin creature comforts, including a stereo option to replace the (truly pathetic) system in current models, leather, and moon roof; and 2) better performing 4cyl motor, though it seems I'm in for disappointment on the latter.

The 2.7 power rating hasn't changed since 1995 but the 2.7 engine code did change in 2005. I guess they got more mpgs then not sure

Anyone else wondering how Toyota can increase the price on every model by almost 2000? Not like it cost anywhere near that much more to make than the 15 after applying the economies of scale. Also anyone else noticed the msrp of a tundra crew max is only 1k more than a d-cab Tacoma now.

I wasnt quite sure what you were arguing prior to quoting you so forgive me if I took your post out of context, I didn't see a quote attached to yours and am just responding to your statement not to buy a Tacoma because you "know it will fail". If that was facetious I didn't know. The point I'm making is, you can't really say buying a Tacoma is buying a truck you know will fail just because of these recalls which have been handled, forcibly or not. Our f250a engine blew up and all we got was a "good deal" on an f150 after riding a tow truck home, something much less likely to happen in a Toyota product. Yes Toyota has flaws but you must compare them to every other companies which like I said, are more numerous and more critical.
I agree it should have been stopped a long time ago but at least what I read was that this was only the frames sourced from a certain company, so it's not like Toyota put out a crap motor or anything.

No need. Mines already bent out of shape and for that reason probably not getting sold anytime soon :D

Intimidated by new technology - what have our trucks done to us??

I'm not sure about that last bit. Surely that doesn't translate to every trim level?

If only tundra would step up to the plate and get good mpg like every other full size, it would be appealing...
    Unfortunately...

Is it just me or do the rear flares look incomplete. It shows up more on the non painted ones especially the white one. They don't extend all the way to the bottom, looks like my 4runner when I took the running boards off.
