I love my MT, serves my current purposes. If I was commuting in daily heavy traffic, it would get old.

I love manual transmissions. I use to have a 6 speed taco, but when I decided to get another tacoma I opted for the auto. I've now had this auto for about 2 years and have never regretted it. It's smoother, quicker, and better mpgs. Much nicer when stuck in traffic and highway driving. 6 speed was a bit clunky for me.

I love Manual Transmissions, but for my Tacomas (my '08 and my '15) I got Automatic Transmissions because it just gets REALLY OLD driving/commuting everyday through heavy city traffic in a Manual transmission. Plus, I like having my 2nd hand completely free while driving for my water, phone, etc.

Now, in my M6 convertible I specially ordered a Manual transmission.

Love manual. I only have an automatic because at the time I got my truck, I thought I'd be towing a lot. I dont tow, but i dont regret getting the automatic neither.

I've owned 4 Toyota trucks since 1987. The ONLY breakdown was the MT in my '84. Couldn't afford regular service, so probably my bad. My '15 AC/OR is the the 1st auto trans ever for me and I love it.

My head agrees with that sentiment. Unfortunately, the arthritis in my knees had different thoughts on the matter. Had to, reluctantly, trade-in my 2010 4x4 5spd for an auto. It's okay, once I got used to it.

i think this may be age dependant... after 35 years of driving all manuals, i recently ditched my manual taco for an auto one. for it's intended use, i am much happier when using my taco now. :) all of the other vehicles still have clutch pedals, so we shall see...

I have never owned an Automatic, I find them boring. Another plus of owning a stick is its less likely to get stolen, I've seen a few cases of carjacking where the idiot thief had to give up and run away.

You should see the reactions I get to my wife's iQ.
    CVT tranny, jury's still out.
    Taco is a auto.
Signature car is a manual. I always drive it in competition mode (nanny off).

Hoping I never get too old to drive a stick! Had this on my last car until someone stole it!

Being able to drive a manual transmission is not the super power so many make it out to be . Fun in a sports car , meh in a truck but to each their own

The first mod on my truck was the URD short shift kit for my 5 speed. It was awesome, so much quicker and more positive engagement. By now, a year and a half later I've gotten used to it so it just feels normal. I love shifting gears. It really makes you more aware of everything while driving. I also find myself much less likely to speed with a stick.

Older, but not the reason I gave up shifting. Left Knee surgery did the job. I drove manuals for years before that. Todays automatics are pretty sophisticated though, and I've grow to like them quite a bit.

A few years ago Toyota lost a sale to me because a 2wd crew cab with manual transmission was not available. Went with Nissan instead. Had to trade the wife's 5 spd Civic for something with auto last year, but I'm sticking with a stick shift while I can. I am skeptical about claims that autos get better gas mileage. I have always been able to exceed the sticker ratings with a stick.

I just bought a 2015 AC 4WD 4.0 with a 6 speed manual. I learned to drive on a manual (3 on the tree) but for the last 15 years I have had mostly autos. When I went looking for the new Tacoma this was a priority and a difficult one at that. Patience paid off and I got what I wanted.
