I asked a while back but got no answer and was reminded by the above exchange here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-will-be-your-first-accesories.389965/

How do most people find these Taco beds traction wise? I've always had spray ins on my sheet metal bed unless you go back to my '87 Toyota Truck and in that I used a bed liner similar to the OEM one for todays Tacos. We get a lot of snow in CO and I have nearly killed myself standing on bare metal truck beds. Is this bed normally grippy enough in winter/when wet or do people usually add the non slip bed liner or something similar? For ~$100 or the WeatherTech ones for ~$200? Pros and cons of the one you've used

[searched around a bit but I seem to be having no luck finding a decent thread on this - if you got one you can find please share]

Also wondering. I have always have spray in. Can't stand the plastic drop ins. It's like a skating rink that traps water to sit on the metal. Definitely need a mat

edit....Sorry, I see you are 3rd gen, they should have one available though if not now, very soon

Oem mats are sweet and they can usually be found used for 60-70 bucks. I like mine. Heard good things too about the deezee mats. Nice and thick. I say the heavier the better. I'd shop by shipping weight if you're buying online.

I bought my OEM mat a few months ago and soon as i got it kicked myself for not getting it sooner! It doesn't move in the bed at all and keeps anything i've put back there in place like glue. Can't comment on any others but if the OEM one is the cheaper I'd go with that...

Sorry, your a 3rd generation. I'm sure the OEM would would be similar to the 2nd generation one though.....

I'll need to look in the other thread but I think it might be the same part number. Bed is a tiny bit deeper but the same dimensions otherwise if I follow along correctly.

Thanks for the opinions / info - keep it coming. Anyone have the WeatherTech version?

Hi from 2023! You didn't know how good you had it in 2015. MSRP on a OE mat for gen3 is now $167 but you can't get it for a long bed for at least 4 more months. I found one on ebay, I shit you not for $499.

I just replaced my 2015 Tacoma with a 2023 Tacoma….i did NOT replace my OEM bed mat, just moved it to the new truck. Durable, functional, grippy..simple and cheap solution that lasts for years.
