    Looking good.

Hopefully I can get a transmission skid built before the Trees Ranch trip.

I have a feeling we will need them looking at pics of the rock formations. Big ledges.

Yeah. On Friday I stopped by 4wheel parts in San Antonio and the guys there were telling me it's pretty rough out there.

You'll need a transfer case skid before the transmission.

So, who's bringing the spare drive shaft?

Had an opportunity to visit Trees Ranch near Leakey, TX this past weekend with @bakerla and @SMKYTXN. That place was intense. Even the access roads required 4x4 (even locker a couple times :anonymous:). I'm sure it was a good indication what the terrain would be when we got there and there were almost 100% trailered rock bouncers out there. I think there were maybe 3-4 other drive-on rigs besides us.

The three diamond trails (in this case that rating allegedly meant lightly modified with 35s) that we gravitated to were mostly creek beds with boulders and stumps just large enough to have you worrying about your driveshaft. It was fun though, and as difficult as the terrain was, we really only winched in two or three places (one time to get my ass end away from a tree).

This was on Nissan Parkway...an access road...allegedly

    DSC_0202.jpg
One of the many waterfalls we encountered. This one was probably the tallest, but not the most difficult.

    DSC_0225.jpg
Sometimes you just have to run Trail Editor...

    DSC_0228.jpg
Was easier after trail editor was used, but still not a walk in the park...tough off-camber ledge in the left corner of the pic.

    IMAG1492.jpg
That night the San Antonio Midnight 4x4 club held a raffle and BBQ dinner. BBQ was good and I won two universal fit mufflers :notsure:

    DSC_0306.jpg
Hold on to your butts...this thing was steep on the bottom half

    DSC_0312.jpg
No rear bumpers were harmed...the chrome lives on

    DSC_0339.jpg
    Because waterfalls :goingcrazy:

    DSC_0352.jpg
    Dat flex

    DSC_0398.jpg
The problem that ended in my bed getting a dent...note tree and ledge and rock...also off camber towards the tree as you go up

:anonymous: Bad line of the day :anonymous:
    DSC_0407.jpg
Rear end kept slowly moving further towards the tree...so to keep my tail light, we set up a snatch block and ran it back to Nathan's truck. You can see the Trail Toys soft shackle in use.

    DSC_0436.jpg
    Bunch of posers

Thanks to Lyndall and Nathan for all the good spotting as well as good photos, good food, and good company at the camp.

More from SMKYTXN (if he fixes the redxfail)

    Nice truck mang!!

Did you do the reroute yourself? If so, where'd you get the pipe and what size is it? Also, I assume its just steel and everything can be welded together using a mig?

    Thanks dude!

I had a local exhaust shop do it for $150...have heard as cheap as $70 to get it done. Figured for that price it wasn't worth the hassle of finding the exhaust tubing and welding everything up. It does look like the guy used some type of wirefeed welder (looked like MIG) though...there were pieces of wire stuck on one of the welds.

That's not a bad price at all. Hopefully, I can get someone around here to do it for that. I've got the same skids - those things are BEEFY.

I have managed to bend the trans skid quite a bit on both sides...it and the LCA skids take most of the hits. LCA's take the large rocks and the trans skid is where you land when you go down a ledge that turned out to be a little too tall lol

People say you dont need the LCA skids...and they are right...but they look darn good and things to hit them alot

Installed my Bird Dawg Industries Tech Deck HD today and I have a ram ball to mount on there but no hardware for it :anonymous:. The whole process took about 30 minutes including taking the head unit out to epoxy the blacking plate in.

Installed LED towers in my DTRLs, so had to do the hyperblink mod to the relay. I removed about 2/3 of the thickness of the shunt resistor. Used a small file.

    Works great!

Had some time today to download the pics that @bakerla and @tex took at Barnwell Mountain during our new years trip. Was alot of fun even though it was cold and the campfire burned non-stop the whole time. The park was very muddy though, but luckily we got in the mud almost immediately on our first trail so there was no worry about avoiding it after that :notsure:.

I think the toughest trail we did was at night with @SMKYTXN ...so I don't have any pics of it...

Thanks also to @greeneggsnspam , @Balockay , @TXSmiley , and whoever else has a TW account that I'm forgetting for the good company and good food! One of the best showings of camp food and beer that I have seen for sure.

24159388715_c987bf36eb_o.jpg @SMKYTXN do I get an unnecessary bypass badge for this one?

    DSC_0189.jpg DSC_0192.jpg But dat flex!

I had winched on this part of this trail last time I was on it...not this time with the locker!
