Dick Cepeks DC-2 16x8 Opinions and is this a good deal?

Hey guys

Saw these on craigslist and was thinking about picking them up and ditching my oem steelies. What u guys think? Here is a pic from tire rack of them on the truck. Anyone running them now?

Alloys are a good upgrade over steelies, and the wheel isn't too wide like many aftermarket wheels. Not sure on the specs for offset. Not my style personally, but it is your truck. The BFG KOs are not a tire I would recommend off road for anything muddy (as they wont self clean) or anything where sharp rocks will hit your sidewalks as they are not well protected. I think those tires are also pretty heavy at 54lbs. Compared to my KO2s of the same size in 17s 265/70R17 at 45lbs. Other than that if you like them go for it and flip your old ones on CL to offset the cost.

 

Ya that was another option I was thinking about. Look for a 17 inch rim so I could get some ko2s in a 265 70 17 instead of the heavier 265 75 16......

 

I just noticed you have the 2.7, so I'd pay extra attention to weight. P-rated tires will be even lighter if you don't off road where tire durability is an issue.

 

had em on my ranger a couple years ago and the "clearcoat" seemed great to me here in MN, a heavy salt state. it actually just peeled off after two years of driving, and i dont off road. They do look sweet tho... but i dont think they last all that long

 

i agree . mine are 2 years old and the clearcoat is gone
