Does anyone know why standard cab and 4cyl models should use the Lowest C Clip setting on 5100s? I was thinking about getting this kit for my truck instead of the procomp 3" leveling kit until I read this...Screen Shot 2015-09-09 at 11.13.52 PM.jpg Screen Shot 2015-09-09 at 11.13.32 PM.jpg

Would I still get a 3" lift up front on my regular cab at the lowest setting? Or would I have to set it at the second c clip setting to achieve the 3" lift for the front? If so, going past the lowest setting on the shock what damage am I looking at? and why only on reg. cabs/ 4 cyl models? :help::help::help:

Driveshaft? I'm interested in this too. It's weird that 4cyl is mentioned since you can get an access cab 4cyl which I believe has a 2 piece driveshaft. Maybe it's something to do with the transmission? :notsure:

I'm thinking of lifting the front 3" and rear about 1.5-2". Does anyone know if this problem is due to the driveshaft angle / extended travel from lift & new shocks?

I found this after a quick search:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/regular-cab-lift.181011/

I'll email toytec to see what they have to say about it.

I also found this build page with a regular cab and a lift that looks to be about 3" which uses 3* shims in the back to correct the driveshaft angle:

I pm'd him about it too.

Here is especk's reply to my pm:

Hi Anthony, I installed the shims when I lifted it originally. I did this because I had experience with other lifted vehicles of mine in the past. So I never got the chance to experience vibes from lifting this Tacoma. I didn't want to not install the shims and end up with vibes, so I did this proactively. It's not like they can do any harm and there cheap and simple. I had about 2.75" of lift front and rear.

The springs are designed to support the heavier V6 and larger cabs. Without that weight you would end up with to much lift and have issues with shock travel the UCA and its ball joint.

Yeah you would want aftermarket UCA's for sure.
