Or it did work! I thought you could make the old bumps go away entirely....

Or it didn't work and a mod worked some sorcery, lots of them floating around :spy:

I get called out for pointing out the other side of the argument? Really? No way can there be two sides to an issue...

I'm sorry you seem to have taken offense to my comment, and feel the need to call names, but I was in fact merely pointing out the flip side. I had no intention of being rude, did you?

And at that, I'll leave well enough alone. The rules have been ammended so it's water under the bridge. Makes no difference to me either if you must know, just don't see the need for more rules.

    Carry on,

The problem is, is if I'm trying sell my shocks and I take a picture of a shock bolted into my truck, I'm not getting the whole picture regardless of whether or not the shock is 100% in frame. Nobody is. At any point during the removal of an item it can become damaged, it can be found to be in disrepair (the shock doesn't rebound once it's off the truck, leaks oil, whatever) and it leaves a seller in a position to continue a transaction selling parts that aren't actually functional.

There are a significant amount of ads in the marketplace from new members who have only joined the forum to list their item(s) for sale. So, if they aren't planning on sticking around the forum and don't care about a reputation or anything else - what is to prevent them from posting an item (like a shock I mentioned above) still installed on a vehicle, and then upon removal of a bad shock figure screw it, someone already paid me, I'll send it to them anyway and pretend it was fine, or I'll just disappear altogether.

There is little need to protect a seller on this forum's marketplace, and a significant need to protect the buyer. A rule of "items need to be removed from the vehicle and pictured to show condition" is pretty black and white, and if done honestly and in accordance to said rules, will make things less risky for someone sending hundreds of dollars across the internet to what is often a complete stranger.

I don't see a point in leaving things to chance to that extent, and it also follows the "needs pictures of actual items for sale" rule.

There will always be scammers, and this forum will have them also.. the marketplace should be a place that makes it as difficult as possible for them to exist here, even if it's the one time they use it.
