    Well I'm just gonna put everything back together and do that then.

    I popped one of the bushings out today with the bottle jack and I'm just not feeling the whole Energy Suspension kit thing. The OEM washer and sleeve design is pretty sketch. I don't really have any confidence that it will go back together nicely.

    Thanks man.

    Edit: Maybe the step down refers to the lip on the end of the outer sleeve. I sent a message to Whiteline so hopefully they can confirm.

    Yeah, the Energy Suspension design is inferior IMO.

    FWIW, @lotsoftoys on here runs them too, and before I installed them I read of a bunch of people on T4R with 3rd gens running them. There is in fact a bit of a step, don't know what for, stole this picture from a T4R thread:

    I didn't measure them but it looks like the OEM bushings may have a slight taper so perhaps that is what the step is for.

    I corresponded with Whitelines about LCA bushings for first gens and got this back from them:

    Thank you for contacting us with your product question. We do not currently have a set of lower control arm bushings confirmed for the Toyota Tacoma. We have a set of FJ Cruiser/Hilux bushings that are undergoing fitment and testing currently and MAY have a part number listed for the Tacoma in the first part of 2016.     Maybe a thread specific to bushings should be created, would have helped me quite a bit when I did mine.

    UPDATE:

    TC has replied. They basically said everything that Jason did and that cost wise it isn't worth it because to them its not worth it with out doing a uniball conversion and they think it'll be too expensive. For secondaries they just use their current kit and cut off the swap bar links from stock ones.

    Pat did say that they have thought about it many times. But the cost was too high. I still asked him if they could do a small batch and what the cost would be potentially.
