This is why I keep a topper. So I can car camp in the back. I got this cool air mattress that is custom made for pickup truck beds. Mattress actualyl goes over the fender wells.

Actually only $110. Comes with a cigarette adapter air pump. Made out of strong material too. I just air it up when I get to my camp spot. Suppose I could air it up before though. Also is nice to keep around in case I have extra guests come to my house. http://www.autoanything.com/truck-tents/airbedz-lite-truck-bed-air-mattress

I am learning a lot! I love this site. I think I'd keep it folded while traveling too and air it up when I get there.

Only takes about 5 minutes to air up. Really much more comfortable than the flat/hard bed liner.

Unless your a shorty, you can't sleep in a 5' bed truck. Maybe if u sleep diagonal.

Yeah only reason I want a LB is for sleep. The bed in my Tacoma saw many "magic moments" back in college. "Once the Taco starts a rockin', Don't bother knockin'." Was what I told those camping around me. :)

ARE has got a nice looking one, the "Overland". Available for 2016s, 4 week delivery. I just got a quote for $2950, installed out-the-door. Decisions, decisions...

Always wondered why car companies didn't make toppers. I think they could make a killing on this as an option and they would be able to develop them much easier than the aftermarket. $3k is nuts though.

You can always tell them you removed it. It's a $45 part at worst.

Most likely what I'll do is order a rail if/when I purchase the 2016 Taco. I have other stuff I'm pulling off my 2013 anyway. Besides, I am not trading the truck in. I am going to trade-in a G37 Coupe.

I'll do the swaps of my roof rack, towing stuff, etc. when both Taco's are sitting in the driveway. After that I'll clean and polish the 2013 and sell it.

Just talked to folks at Bestop (soft top), guy said they are aiming to have something available to order by SEMA, which I guess is about 5 weeks away (?). He didn't seem to knowledgeable. I asked how long it would take to deliver, once order, he said he didn't know. He didn't even know if the 2016 would be different than 2015. I believe soft tops are about $5-600.
