    Axl Rose "could" have been one of the best front men of all time if his ego hadn't got the best of him. I went to see them in concert and they didn't take the stage until after midnight. It was a good concert but it's hard to get too excited about it when your pissed that it started more than 4 hours AFTER it was supposed to. They made some truly great music and it's sad it turned out like it did. Had everything worked out who knows what they could have turned into?

    I taught my daughter from a early age that "music" is the great unifier. It makes us all equal. She started playing my guitar at age 5 and she's 10 now and has gotten pretty good. Music transcends all races, cultures, and any differences we have. It brings us together. Though there is some we like more than others I can still appreciate the effort that goes into having the talent to be able to make music. I hope to pass that on to my daughter.

    I think I've told this story before but when I was first teaching her how to play guitar she was 5 yrs old. I took her to guitar center and we walked up to the counter and I told the guy working there that she needed some picks and we needed another capo. The guy behind the counter asked her "are you going to learn how to play Taylor Swift?" This little girl in her little voice looked him straight in the eye and told him "no.... I'm going to play like David Gilmour". The look on his face was priceless. My daughter waked away and he looked at me in stunned disbelief and said "that is the coolest shit I think I've ever heard!" I told him, "That's all she knows. That's what she has grown up with her entire life".

    Now... She likes some more of the popular music (which is to be expected) but she still loves the stuff I listen too. She can't understand how my wife doesn't like this song. It's one of my daughters favorites.

    All that said... She likes this song too. And if I'm honest... I do too. Reminds me of a Michael Jackson video (especially the dance sequence)

    I've been teaching her to ride BMX for the last 6 months. I raced BMX from the age of 5 so I've been teaching her some flatland tricks. Danny MacAskill certainly helped with this process and she loves the songs in his videos. Since we are all Irish / Scottish descent it just makes sense.

    If I could super like this post I would!!!! (Along with the blind melon ones lol) some of my best memories by far as a kid were on my Bmx bike. If you search, there is a Bmx thread on here. Man talkin about taking you back in time. I never raced because my parents just couldn't devote the time and travel for it. That's one thing I so wished I could've done. Back to that thread, a member from Florida posted some pics of him in some flatland free-styling competitions....way cool....or "rad" as they said back in the day.
