Thanks! It's slow process but it's coming along

Yeah I'm floating little under 3inches I think. The rear has settled out and I keep the front level to that. Probably swap out the rear pack next year or the year after. It's been getting a lot of miles on it.

Winters are terrible! Constant battle re coating the frame every year for me. Trying to space the add ons usually works for me. Sometimes you do have to shell out a lot at once though. Really wish I had some TRD seats, other then that I love the 4 cyl manual.

Ride isn't to bad. The Dakars in the rear can be a little rough if there is no weight back there. Chrome is coming off a few of my emblems so they might need to go bye bye

Thanks! And hello! Right now I'm in Michigan but I'm back in the 518 area once a month.

Check out Digi Diodes. That's where I got mine and they've held up really well

Any vibes or wierdness with the lift at all? Cant decide whether to keep at 2 inches and be safe or do the full 3...with 265s, 3 inch is prob not nessecary even at full stuff I would think

So after about 60k miles I started to get a weird vibration in the wheel above 60mph, and really noticeable while braking. Crawled under to check the Drivers Side front axle shaft, since I heard there are a lot of issues with the Needle Bearings when lifting. Sure enough there was a lot of slop in it, so do the ECGS Bushing to replace the needles bearings. All the vibrations went away. have about 10k miles on the bushing now with no issues. With the right tire 265s look pretty good. I didnt want 285s since the whole hassle of getting them to fit as well as the gas mileage to take a big hit. Plus tire cost is a pretty big jump as well. Think that 2-3 inch lift range looks best since you could get away without changing out the upper control arms

    Thanks!

So figure do a little update on the truck: Truck is just under 110,000 miles right now

New Shock relocation is awesome have to say. Actually thought my leaf springs were shot since the rear of the truck looked like it was sagging, turns out the old Old Man Emu shocks were totally worn out. Sounded like water was sloshing around in them or I actually blew the valving apart and the oil was just moving around. Either way glad I did the swap.

New shocks are working beautifully. With the Dakars in the rear ride is a little choppy on the Michigan roads but thats to be expected. Threw some weight in the back which helps for sure. Still need to get the extended brake lines done, on the road its ok, but I dont have to go offroad and flex off something and rip them out.

This weekend did some undercoating touch up as well as fluid filmed everything, that shit stunk but hopefully it keeps the underside from rusting up this winter.

Hopefully picking up a set of sliders from my buddy who's selling his Taco this weekend, updates and pics are sure to follow.

Got my hands on a retired Military Trailer so expedition trailer is looking to be in the works. Need some mods done to that and the Taco before I hit the trails with it though.

Great thread on the way to keep a 4 banger relevant. They are great vehicles, like said, if you keep the weight low and the tires "sane". Infrequent towing is not out of the question and daily commutes are more enjoyable if you do it right. I had a lifted black 4wd 4cylinder for a while and it was THE BEST off road Toyota truck I had because of the balance. Under the right circumstances, I found they handle better on pavement too.
