I gotta post up photos of my install and how I have been driving the truck around the last week with the weather as crappy as it has been here in VA.

Well if nothing else you I think you will be the first to say install took about a week lol.

My wife pretty much thinks I'm nuts as well. I'm always pointing out what year range a passing tacoma is based on things like the grill, headlights, taillights etc. She also finds it a little funny when I'm excited to see a little frost on the mirrors... I told her she isn't allowed to touch the button though

Can't thank you enough James for hooking me up with someone in my area to help with the Heated Mirror install. Turned out to be a beautiful day for it. Will post some updates this afternoon.

Just finished up. With a slight bump in the road due to me not paying attention for a minute (ran their passenger wire through the glove box opening and had to redo it) took us just about four hours end to end. Gorgeous day for it and Unchained is a genuine nice guy. Couldn't have asked for better company.

One question James why does my switch not look like a heater element that you show?

Awesome guys! Glad all went well. One hiccup is not too bad. As far as I can tell both of you are pretty good guys!

I looked hard for a switch under the AC with the same graphics as the left of steering. Unfortunately I don't believe Toyota makes one. The under the AC switch graphics represent heated rear window which is typically also heating the side mirrors, it was the only switch that represented the heating function. A list of all the switches is here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...update-thread-pic-heavy.377840/#post-10365059

I'll get you on the list right now, and thank you for the order! I'll have a new batch of switches coming in likely on Tuesday and then will be able to fill your order.. I'll send you a PM when they arrive.

my install went pretty well! I just towed our camper with the new ProEFX style (from 1A Auto) mirrors today and they work great - so nice being able to see behind me. No frost yet to test the heaters, but I am sure that is coming soon. Thanks for making this kit for us Jamie.

On my wife's RAV4 turning on the rear window defroster also powers up the heated side mirrors. The switch pictured a few posts up could easily have been taken inside my wife's car.

Right on, I'd probably be in for a pair of those if I was towing more often. Did you find they shake / vibrate a good deal more than stock?

Yep exactly right. There were tons of switch options I could have used that electrically would have worked fine. That switch was the best choice as far as the graphics go though.

PS did you get around to your install or are you still doing a bit of winter preparations around the house?

Hey man thanks very much for putting this together. I'm wondering if you could post a Canadian price for those of us thinking of making the purchase in Canada given the terrible exchange rate with the CAD to USD right now?

    Thanks!

I think since you have to pay with paypal, it does the conversion for you. You just put in the price of the item ( USD )what you'll be pay with (CAN) and it will charge your credit card in CAN. That's what I did anyways.

What blackradon posted below is correct. It is unfortunate that the exchange rate has had such a large movement recently, I've had a couple of people in Canada who put themselves on the list months ago and decided not to follow through with the order due to the exchange rate.

I'm buying all of the materials for this kit in USD so I find myself in the same predicament as all of the Canadians. Even with the exchange rate it still works out much cheaper to buy the materials in the US than to get it local in CAD funds.

I'd help if I could but with the way the materials need to be sourced I have to also bill out in USD.

Awesome, they look like they would be a big improvement for being able to see what's behind you when towing.
