Yeah I remember those, used to use them back in the day. You can see those on Google earth, I didn't wander over there enough to see if there was a sign or gate blocking them so not sure if you can use them still. There's also a road after you cross the river that takes you back out to 211, but we talked to a hunter and he said the gate at the top was closed for hunting season.

Yeah I'm not sure how much of 'those people' is just trumped up TV vs that's how they really are, but they do seem to be a whole other class of person (makes me think of the Balloon Boy family :der:). They definitely get touchy about claim trespass; one of the guys on Antero 'heard someone coming' and immediately went for his .44. There's reasonable concern about someone stealing or robbing you of a hefty chunk of change, and then there's those people on the show.

Haaa..I drove through st. Elmo on my way to do tincup and head to Gunnison. I'm pretty sure I saw a film crew and folks from one of those reality TV shows.

Attempted heading down old tincup pass....made it 3/4 of the way and a few boulders held me up...had to turn around. Not attempting that solo.

Fall colors are goin off in Gunnison/CB area! Pretty gone by at higher elevations.

I've got a few scenery picts here

Great trip! How were the temps? Day/night! I'm looking at heading up this weekend. I've got the shell as opposed to the tent but I bet it's getting pretty chilly huh?

I didn't think it was that bad, the little woman did however (she is from AZ ha ha) the high was mid 80's but I think it hit close to 40 at the lowest. totally worth it all things considered, bring enough wood though for a fire though!

I hope you're taking this seriously.
If you lose too many more you could be subject to penalties such as being Rick-rolled or forced to watch 2 girls 1 cup or worse!

Yeah, they all were packing. But I'm not too certain how legal the place they were digging was. It was right off the main road, like, they were digging into the road lol

Ran across this on another forum and it talks a bit about the history around Argentine and McClellan as discussed a few back. I like to read about this as I explore areas so I figured I'd share since others might too

I model narrow gauge railway's, On30, and I have a few model replica's of these trains. I'm such a geek.

Thanks for sharing that link! Made my morning.

On a similar note, my father borrowed a book from a university coworker once about the Moffat road/tunnel/line and liked so much I tracked down a copy for him in Denver to give as an Xmas present one year (it's long out of print). In part it's what got me to seek out and drive the Rollins Pass trail.
    http://www.amazon.com/Moffat-Road-E...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1443901310&sr=1-1
And they're actually creating a museum in Granby for it, complete with model rail. I think I posted a link to the site when we were discussing whether or not you could drive over the pass in some way, but it's http://www.moffatroadrailroadmuseum.org/index.html

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
Finished a loop that I did with @Squeaky Penguin in the spring. Fun little loop but I want to do it again in the opposite way. There were some fun rocky sections going that would be fun the other way. Still sworn to secrecy on where it is at though.
