Question for the elderly and experience and more wise....

When it comes to getting a daily for work and life. Is 4wd something a person should opt for if he still has a toy truck? Like I will have the taco for a long long time and will be my offroad rig. But I plan on getting a tundra to be the tow pig/daily.

I've never owned a 2wd truck for daily use really so I'm curious if the maintenance and price is worth getting a 2wd ?

4wd has been nice for daily for me when it ices up here and I still have to make it into work. Also Blake used 4wd on the tow pig to help get his Tacoma off the trail at Jambo.
Getting 4wd for a daily could be needed but it may not. It will just depend on what you expect the truck to do. I need something that will do it all but again you have your Tacoma that could be used for hunting, icy weather, off road fun and that kind of stuff.

All good points. I really don't plan on taking the daily off road. Ever lol. I have land but if I need 4wd to go down it then I don't belong out there on the daily anyway.

The only place I'd really go to need it would be the beach. But then again I'm curious to if I tow the taco somewhere like barn well mountain for a weekend and it rains a monsoon. If the tow pig should be 4wd in case of moments like that or if 2wd will be sufficient.

The moment I made the decision my old 2wd was getting traded for a 4wd was when we were at my friends ranch and it started to rain. I got stuck twice on his road getting to the gate and another time on the county road. Thankfully my friend was there in a 4wd.
Pic of my friend fishing out the tow strap at the first stuck.

Just buy the 4x4. If you buy it you'll probably never need it but if you don't buy it you will need it.

This. Originally Dylan's tow rig was trying to pull blake out (2wd) but then had to step aside for blames tow rig which was 4x4. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and it have it
