Good morning, I'm new here so hopefully I'm putting this in the right place. Yesterday my poor little Tacoma got crunched by a lady who blazed through a red light. Insurance adjuster hasn't been out yet but the officer on scene told me it's likely totaled. I drove it home just fine though, of course. No fluids leaking, just a fair amount of damage to the whole front. I'm not holding out too much hope from the other driver's insurance because the actual driver did not have a license; just the car she was driving had insurance. At any rate I only had liability coverage so it may fall to me to solve this problem. My truck is young for a Tacoma, only 145,000 miles and in perfect mechanical shape before this. I can't even get the hood open at this point, crunched shut.
So, I'm wondering - where do you take your beloved trucks here in Colorado to make sure they get the best treatment for the best price? Obviously I won't take it anywhere until the adjuster has a look at it but I'd love to get a second opinion and look into all my options for fixing it, even if I have to salvage.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Also, bonus question - if I do have to buy a replacement truck, does it make any real sense to wait until spring? It seems few people want to let go of their 4x4s in Colorado right before the snow starts to fly.

    Thanks!

When my truck got into an accident I got it fixed at Phil Long Collision Center in Colorado Springs. They did an amazing job and I can't even tell where they fixed it. No overspray on anything, great work, paint matches perfectly.

You didn't mention where you live, so... I got major hail damage last year (enough to cut off the roof and replace it).

Caliber Collision did mine. It took *FORRREVVVERRR* to get the truck into the shop, but once it was in, they did good work and were really good about communication and making sure I was happy with the results.

It's a franchise, so YMMV. I got the work done at the one in Greenwood Village (South Denver), on Arapahoe. It's in the back of a ... Kia (?) dealer? So, it seems sketchy, but they did great work.
