Great information from our members here, Jcollins.

I really suggest to have the HID's removed from the stock housing. I see people with them every night when I drive home from work and it is blinding as fuck. My worst experience was the other night when someone with a 1st Gen Tacoma was following me home majority of the way. He/She had HID's in stock housings. Now I have 5% tint in the back windows and auto-dimming mirrors, and I was fuckin getting blinded the whole time and on the verge of getting a headache. I could see the scattering light in front of me while my cutoff sliced right through. After about 3/4 of the way home, I finally pulled over because I couldn't take it anymore. It makes a tremendous difference to have it retrofitted. I have HID's myself, properly retrofitted from Andrew.

    Just my advice.

Tried to take a picture of my pattern last night. Failed. But here's a good day picture. In the center you can see there is a dark spot on the fence. There's no light on it. Its roughly 3 feet away. I'll take a picture of the ballast deal later uploadfromtaptalk1444143118558.jpguploadfromtaptalk1444143134487.jpg

That is horrible. Is that on high beam? You cannot even make out the cut off line which should be super crisp. The beam pattern is all over the place and would blind everyone and waste light by not putting it on the road.

The H4 positioning tabs should make it so that is not possible. You shouldn't be able to mount them incorrectly.

What are you using in your front side markers? Daytime running lights?

See how in the 2nd pic that it doesn't flood the entire housing which would scatter light everywhere

Did you need resistors for either?

For the DTRL yes but to be honest I don't remember for the parking lights. I'm at work right now or I would go look. Chris (jumper) installed almost all my lights for me. He lives about 25 minutes away

Is "parking light" another name for "side marker"? Or are they two different things? On my 14 I just noticed three bulbs on the front- daytime running light (center), headlight, and side marker (outermost bulb).

Yeah those are the ones I was referring to (outermost bulb). Those are as "side marker" as it gets on our Tacomas lol. I think in actuality, side markers are on the front fenders or doors like most of the Euro's. Those blink with the turn signals which assist in changing lanes when vehicles are beside them.
