Recently underwent changing my front end brakes (Prerunner) only to have one of the two M12x1.25 bolts that fasten the caliper to the knuckle shear on me and get locked in the knuckle.
Long story short -> had to bore the thing completely out which required multiple bits and a lot of cussing. The hole is now barely too large to accommodate a M12x1.25 replacement bolt.

Unless somebody has a better suggestion, I plan to up the size of the bolt and get a tap to match. I am looking for recommendations on a new bolt size that will fit the bill and also be readily available along with a tap to match.

    Thoughts?

Find an M12 x 1.25 helicoil kit, and follow the drilling, tapping, and installation directions carefully, so long as your existing hole does not exceed the drill size required for the helicoil. It's really quite an easy process, and won't require drilling out your caliper mounting hole and any replacement calipers in the future.

Much appreciated, all. Worked like a charm. For as simple as those are, tough, they are expensive!
