2015 Formula 1 Season Paddock

I know it's the current rules structure, but I find it disappointing as a fan when teams write off a season half way through to focus on next year's ride. I totally understand the reasoning and logic along with the $$, but it's sad. This whole season has been a testing session for McHonda, where is the cost savings in that. They have basically spent hundreds of millions on testing this year partially because there is limited post/pre season testing to save money.

 

There's only 5 races left , and it's the token system and testing ban that won't allow for in season improvements

 

Ok, but why not go ahead with development and just accept whatever penalties if you have already written the season off.

 

They are developing , just not the 2015 spec engine

If they go to blower trucks they might as well just get rid of the VSC

Blower trucks is gonna mean going back to physical safety car periods of 7-10 laps every time there is debris because they will need to drive on the truck on the track versus marshalls under double waved yellows and VSC

 

It would still need to drive on the circuit to get to the accident site which would mean physical safety car

 

smart drones that would know where the race cars are and could dodge them while cleaning up. Problem solved.

 

Marshals with leaf blowers or back pack vacuums would be better and cheaper

 

They won't do VSC with a recovery vehicle driving on the track , so full course safety car which means 7-10 laps of boring

 

I was seeing the drivers that drift yesterday at the irwendale speedway yesterday. Saw a bunch of smoke and decided to sneak in it was pretty cool free
