    Hello,

I have a 2015 Tacoma 4x4 that makes a loud scraping noise on the front end when I go over this one speed bump in my office parking lot. I only have about 2500 miles on the truck, but it has been doing it since the first time I went over the bump (when I come down off of the speed bump onto the parking lot). I have taken it to the dealership and they say that there is no problem with the front end and it is performing properly. I just don't want to keep hearing the noise and not do anything about it if I am causing damage to the truck. Anybody else having this same issue? If it is normal, I am not concerned about it, but I just want to make sure I am not tearing anything up. It is not happening at any kind of speed...maybe 5 mph at the most. Thank you for your help.

Do you hear it going 5mpg or if you go faster than 5.
Or do you hear it at all speeds?

yup. Just trim them if it bothers you. Otherwise, not an issue.

Just when I am going over that large one at work. Mud flaps makes sense. Yes, only when I'm going over the speed bump at around 5 mph.

Ditto. It's ridiculous that a 4X4 truck can't go over the speed bumps at Costco.

I can't stand the looks of the stock mud flaps. But....They serve a purpose by keeping a lot of crap off the paint and preventing rocks from beating the life out of the paint on the rocker panels. Best solution is to trim 'em off by 4". That's just above the "4X4" on the rear flaps. It's easy enough to do. Just cut 'em off with tin snips. Use the part you cut off to mark the radius corners on what is left. Then coarse sandpaper to smooth the edges. I did mine and learned to tolerate the looks. No more dragging them over the speed bumps at the mall!

+1 for sure....I trimmed 4 inches off of mine both front and rear, problem solved. It took me all of 15 minutes with tin snips.
