My only fear is the lack of touch the NDP might have. I'm sure you saw the recent debacle they tried to pull in Alberta after talking about financially responsible decisions all election. I'm setup to make a good chunk of money MAYBE in a year or two if I decide to cash in and take a promotion. I'd like my wife to have the option of working while I support the family. The problem I see is that, under the NDP, I'll jump into a tax bracket where that won't be possible. In exchange I just don't see much benefit for even my less well off friends.

Yes I did. I still hold by that. If you can get a louder voice take it.

 

Provincial parties and federal parties don't always translate and the case in point basically is the kind of crap that happens all the time across all governing parties so I'm not sure that's as much a representative reflection on the NDP brand as it is a reflection of how most governments are at some level detatched from the constituents

Having said all that , the main rival for Harper now looks like Nice Hair Tho , and I'll bet he is an easier draw for undecided soft left voters who just want Harper gone , so I kinda predict an upswell in support for the Liberals at the expense of the NDP in the next week as undecided strategic voters make up their minds

 

My comment against the NDP has to do with inexperience of the candidates they tend to run. Maybe I'm portraying them unfairly, but in the small sample I've seen has left me not impressed with a party that doesn't have a clue once they are in power due to lack of experience.

I think we are already starting to see the ground swell support for the Liberals. I'd be in support of a Liberal government. The question is would they be able to keep either the NDP or the PC's happy enough to have an effective coalition?

The more important part - VOTED today in Advance polling as I don't know where i'll be come Oct.19
It was difficult choice - our local MP has served our community well, with integrity you would expect and want. No name calling, drama, or lavish personal expenditures, and he puts in 12-16 hour days often with a very good attendance in the House of Commons.

Only problem is a vote for him, would be a vote for the Conservative party leader, and his dictatorship style of leadership, and lately racist views that do not express what Canada is about. I cannot support that.

In my opinion, those that choose not to vote, whether too busy, lazy, or apathetic are disrespectful to those that died defending the ideals of giving the choice to the people of who and how they will be governed.

 

I'm home from the job in Oregon. Not sure where I'm headed next, maybe Nova Scotia, which would be very cool. In the meantime I have a bunch of online learning to do, and they'll pay me the hours.
