I am trying to figure out what this rubber line is. It's on the passenger side, just forward of the transfer case on the side, below the shifter, and looks to be some kind of vent(?) or vacuum line. It's small (like 1/4" diameter) and plugs onto an metal line with a flared keeper style end. It seems to have leaked transmission oil at some time in the past, and that's the only reason I noticed it last night while looking at my center bearing. The end of the hose is sort of loose (looks damaged on the end), allowing it to have leaked in the past. The area is dry now, but stained from dirt where it had leaked.

Here's a picture of what I mean. It is clearly visible in the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th picture at the rear of the case on the side.

I also noticed that the transfer case looks to have had a leak up at a hole at the top of the driver side. I am guessing that's a vent as well, and someone did something that caused it to leak at some time in the past.

That is the vent. Usually they leak due to an overfill or they just weep oil out.

Ok, cool. Sort of figured that's what it was. I just drained and refilled to the proper level in both with MT90 the other day. I haven't witnessed any leaks, this looks to have happened before I bought it.

Yeah most likely just a vent doing what it does, I'll add tho' if it gets clogged it could allow pressure to build forcing gear lube out but I'd think it'd be an alarming amount not just weeping...
