Any one done this in your garage? Have you wired your camper shell(LED 3rd brake and running light)? Where did you splice( color?)? Any help?

I'd tap off one of the wires behind the tail light. I'm in my office so I'm not sure what colors the wires are, but a DMM will tell you that real fast. Shouldn't need a relay if it's only one light.

I found this thanks to Google.

Remove two 10mm bolts to remove taillight assembly. Pull straight rearward to remove taillight. then make following connections

    Green/red = brake light
green (right next to it) - works when parking lights are on = dome light wire (you would have to go to battery for dome light on anytime make sure you use a fuse within a foot of the battery)
    white/black = ground

There is a gap between the bedcaps and the bed (rear metal upright) large enough for 3 wires to fit. You can fish them out from inside the tailght.

For quick disconnect capabilities you will always have a connector there (so it will as clean as your imagination its just wires) . If you don't have a "quick disconnect just get a 4flat trailor harness loop and use it (they come in 48'' lengths).

I picked up the campershell(LEER), installed and wired it. I'm attaching some images and a quick "how-to".
These wiring below comes standard. The installation cost at dealer is anywhere between $85-$100 plus tax. I figured I can splice some wires and save that money.
The camper shell comes with these wires std.
4 pin quick disconnect with wiring and inline fuses(two - one of 3rd brake and one dome light).
    2 scotchlocks.
    1 diagram on how-to-wire.
    Red/White is 3 rd brake.
    Red is running light.
    Black is ground.

The factory wires on camper was zip tied this way:

Remove the three bolts holding the rear tail light in place. You should see something like this( top bulb unit is indicator and bottom is back up light, so ignore those and pick the middle one).

The Green/red(sortof) is the brake light( this should map to red/white campershell wire). The other solid green is running lights(this goes to dome light).

Use scotchlock and plyers to tap out.

Do the same for solid green wire mapping to solid red light on camper(running light).

Connect the ground to nearest point...mine is right behind the white wire you see at top.
Connect (NOTE :****loosely***) 4 pin to campershell wire...BTWBlack is ground.

Test it and then push the wires in 4 pin connector and then push the 4 pin connecters in place.
    Clean up the wiring...
This is did not work for me as the fuse kept interfering.

Ended up pushing all wires inside tail light assembly(including 4 pin quick disconnect inside).

    Hope this helps...
