    I really wanted one.

New ones were just too much.

Current gen used ones were on the top end of my budget and I could have afforded one but I just didn't feel like they were worth what was being asked. Plus they all have rusty frames from Ohio winters. Prior gen used ones that I found were too much for a 15 year old truck and they all were rusted as fuck, too. I'm not paying $15,000 for a 15 year old truck with 175,000 miles on it.

I test drove a 2012 SR5 4R with 40,000 miles on it several times, and I ended up offering them like $4500 less than they were asking. The salesman apparently was offended by this because he never called me back, and when I called him twice over the next few days he never was in. This was the same guy that I had just - 2 months prior - bought a new Prius from (it's my wife's okay????). At that point I was like... used 4R is $4,000 more than brand new Xterra... similar enough platforms.... essentially the same engine (4.0 V6)... fuck, why not. Less money, new car, warranty, and if we move quick enough it will never even see snow / rust.

Having said all that if money were no object I'd be rocking in a '15 TRD Trail 4R with a nice little lift, ARB bumper, some other tasteful mods. Basically the XOverland truck minus the faggy ass decals.

But since money is an object I will continue rocking my Xturd!!

That's the spirit! But really nothing against you when I say Xturd. They are nice and capable. There's actually one around town that's built up nicely

@MeefZah there resale value is crazy. I'm not hating, you know I like the Xterra lol funny thing is my fiancé and I are getting her a new vehicle next year. Most likely used but new to us, anyways we have it narrowed down to the 4 runner, xterra and the Subaru crosstek.

xterras are nice. considered getting a new one. i really like the blue color they come in. test drove and enjoyed it (more power and space than my taco) but hated the outdated interior.

don't really like the 4th gen runners and 5th gen was out of my budget.

happened to find my 2000 4runner while browsing craigslist. one owner, rust proofed (undercoated) when first purchased, 177k miles, all maintenance records, rear locker. wanted $7200 for it, ended up paying $5700. tan leather is in great shape, less shakes and rattles than my 06 taco ever had. feels like driving a new car aside from the tape deck haha. they really built em well back then.

So, update... I've decided on the quicksand color because I can get everything but the tonneau cover! Plus that color is amazing.

If I were getting a new taco it would definitely be quicksand. Solid choice

I did get my general red letters tho. They been sitting in my garage for the past 2 months just begging to be put on. I think I'm just gonna wait until I get some kind of lift to get them put on. Btw is anybody interested in some factory TRD 16" rims?? I'm looking to sell mine. They look brand new. I can post pics later if anybody is interested
