That's a placeholder VIN. I don't think they can be tracked.

it all depends on what part of the the county you are in. If the truck is already built, basically you are waiting on transportation. the last six of the VIN number should always be numbers. that indicates that the vehicle has gone into production aka being built. Toyota assigns a temporary vin number before the the vehicle is built. you can always tell an "interim" vin when there is a letter included in unit last 6 of the vin. the 2 numbers before the letter indicate the week that the vehicle will go into production.

    For Example:

    3TMBZ5DNXGM41A351

From this vin, the vehicle will go into production week 41 of this year. Week 41 cars go into production the week of 10/12. From then, it is approx. 2-4 weeks to delivery to the dealership.

Could you check for me? I'm in Alaska, dealer can't seem to pin it down during this process. I ordered my truck the first week in Aug. VIN is 5TFCZ5AN6HX063519

My build date was last Monday (2017 Tacoma TRDOR AC). I have the VIN, can anyone get me a screenshot from the dealer site if I send them the VIN?

20B452 is the last 6 of mine. So, it’s the 20 th week? I was told the 11th but now it’s the 21st. So, I think it’s right on for the build date...... so far.

Can anyone run the vin on my window sticker for me? The dealer told me it was supposed to be built January 25th and now almost a month later and I still don't have any new info or updated date.

    The vin is 3TMCZ5AN8NM481940

    Thanks in advance!

The 6th last digit is the week of the year your truck is being built

This was my temp VIN on the vspec sheet my dealer gave me 3TMCZ5AN4NM06C455

The last 6 are 06C455. A letter in the last 6 makes it a temporary vin, a permanent vin doesn’t have a letter. “06” means it’s being built the 6th week of the year l out of 52. My truck was built 02/11/2022.

If you’re near Mexico your truck will arrive quickly, mine showed up in 3 days I was lucky. The further away you are the longer it can take

The build sheet my dealer gave me never had a temp vin, just the vin I listed. There is no letter in the last 6 of my vin. Would it still be those first 2 of the last 6 meaning mine will be built in the 48th week of the year? Or since it isn't a temp vin it's different?

You are at the mercy of the dealer as to the whereabouts but they can only tell you if it’s status is P (in Port) or F (freight meaning train) or G (Ground meaning truck). Once it hits the ground the dealer can on check the status and each step is determined by the amount of vehicles going through port, train schedules and truck schedules. Hopefully, the craziness predicted this coming Wednesday with truckers threatening to shut down freeways doesn’t hamper the arrival of your truck.

No, the truck IS BUILT since no letter appears in the last 6. It is on the way or about to be on the way.

Yea, I don’t know where his truck is and couldn’t tell him much. “On the way or about to be on the way” doesn’t mean anything if it could be 1 day or a few more weeks.
