No, I don't believe it did at all. Like I said, all players are trying to knock opposing players out of the game constantly. There is no video proof that Saints players ever purposely intended to injure other teams players. They were rewarded for big hits and got a bonus if that big hit knocked the player out of the game. as Kevin said, that has been going on in the NFL for decades. As of right now today I assure you there are rewards systems in place in lockers rooms all over the NFL. The saints problem was that their defensive coordinator knew about it and partook.

Safeties will never say it publicly because or PR, especially with all the concussion concerns, but there isn't a safety in the game that wouldn't smile if his legal hit knocked an opposing WR out of the game.

Yea, players become a little more loose lipped after their career is over.

    Don5352,
Great video, I loved watching Lott play. Watching that video... I bet the zebras throw a flag on 60% of those hits today, if not more !

    BAHAHAHA!!!

Kenny Easley was great, but doesn't even sniff Ronnie Lott. Go find me a list that has Easley ranked anywhere close to the top 5 Safeties of all time. Here are the first three lists that I just googled that have Ronnie Lott at #1

Honeslty, I expect more from you man. Throwing out 3 modern day sites is bunk, it shows me you don't know nearly as much about football as I thought you did and as you claim to know. Kenny Easley has a story, Ronnie Lott knows his story...

You won't find him ranked most places, too short of a career. (7 years cut short because of kidney disease) In those 7 years... 5 pro-bowls, 2-3 All pro's and a Defensive player of the year and rookie of the year. This is all while playing for the Seahawks who were probably the least covered team in that time/era in the NFL.

The best place to hear that Kenny Easley is the best safety of all time is from Ronnie Lott himself:

“Kam Chancellor right now is as good as any safety that’s played the game of football,” Lott said of the Seahawks’ present safety before last year’s Super Bowl. “It’s hard for me to say this, but there was only one guy that I know that’s better and that’s Kenny Easley. He was defensive player of the year and the best player to play the safety position, ever."

“Kenny could do what Jack Tatum could do, but he also could do what corners could do — he could do what Mike Haynes could do. He was not only a great hitter and great intimidator on the field, but he was a great athlete. In that day, what made him so special — him, Lawrence Taylor — those guys changed the game of football on the defensive side because they were not just guys that were big hitters. Now, all of sudden, you were seeing guys who were big hitters but also as athletic as anyone on offense.”

    Here's his HOF case:

Jack Tatum. One of the most violent hitters I've ever seen to play this game.

Anyways, for the person who tagged me saying I'd think Greg Hardy was a fuck muscle, you are correct. Probably everyone in here should - imagine someone who beats the shit out of women making comments about your wife and family. Then you have him joking around about his suspension and the circumstances. Any coach/ownership with half a nutsack would have instantly cut him.
