4x4, not crazy about those predator steps. i thought they were going to be closer to the nfabs which my friend has on his '05 Tundra and I have come to really like while I Have been borrowing it. by the tim ei finally saw pics of these it was too late to delete them. I'll probably end up removing them and selling them on craigs list locally.

It's a an LB .. might not be everyone's favorite choice for OR but its mine. I don't go rock crawling but I do spend a lot of time on shit dirt roads and often go on stuff some would consider serious OR'ing but would be considered tame by many here that really do go crawling. For me, the slightly upgraded suspension and various 4x4 modes will be sufficient.

    to each their own.

    cheers

Not sure why it's called "long bed" because its a normal bed, like every generation truck before the DC entered the market. I went from a 06' AC to a 09' DCSB and sold it after a month then bought my current 12' DCLB. SB isn't functional enough for most needs. As for the high clearance issue, I've seen shorter wheel base vehicles not make sections that longer wheel base ones could and vice versa. It depends on the terrain, approach angles, clearance, lockers, etc... If I wanted a rock crawler, I'd buy a Rubicon. Also, a DCLB doesn't take up two spaces in any parking lot. Lift it with 33's and it won't look like a limo. Just my .02

Not a 3rd gen, but you get the idea.

Its a work limo... and it goes through about anything in its way. It also now takes up two to four spots in a parking lot, since I'm tired of boneheads complaining that they dented their doors on the side bars.

    My .02

BTW, that DCLB OR M/T is a sweet option, but I'm too lazy to shift. It is easier to haul with an auto.

    Try that with a SB.

Haha. I would not give a flying shit about idiots who obliviously swing their doors open into your side bars. Serves them right!

    Taczilla,
That is one nice looking truck!
I completely agree re DCLB being capable off road. I also don't do rock climbing with the super short Jeeps - that would be dumb!
I have been many places off road in Baja, and never got stuck. I guess you have to look and think before you jump in!!
    Again, nice truck.

Mines sitting on the lot right now, just out of town so cant pick it up. They do exist and it was easy for my dealer to locate one. The challenge was finding one without the tech packages. I insisted I didn't want the tech package since they all come with the moonroof, and that is a no go for me (im 6'5, so I need the headroom, plus a moon roof is useless in Seattle). Paid basically 1200 below msrp. Took less than 2 weeks from deposit date for them to pick one from another dealership and get it in.

Well you are lucky! DCLB OR is a small percentage of builds and others are having a really hard time finding them. SB are easier. You must have a dealer that can work magic! Like you, mine is in and I am out of town so Monday!
