PA turnpike. State boys have a scale the size of a briefcase that they keep in the trunk. I've seen several loaded pickups being inspected over the years.

I'm not doubting you. I only haul anything that I do haul locally. I'm on the turnpike once in a very rare blue moon. And when I am, got nothing on board. I'm willing to bet those trucks were clearly overloaded.

I did say in my post "you run the risk". It's up to the owner. Where I live and drive I have no worries and will happily pay less each year.

I'm with you, just filling in the details for others. I do have the class 2 sticker displayed to avoid as much as possible, and keep to the slow lane when very heavy. FWIW, I registered a 4x4 suburban as a passenger vehicle for the lower tags and rarely had that gravity on the turnpike.

It's all a scam anyway. I can see charging more for maybe 1 ton and higher vehicles. Vehicles that actually stress the roads.

What you gonna do. Death and taxes, only thing certain in this world. :D

Anybody interested in buying a travel trailer? I'm asking here because it's located at a campground on the MD/PA line. Clear Maryland title. I've always kept it on a permanent campsite. Never smoked in. Outside is a little dirty due to the trees but my wife always kept the inside clean. 2003 Gulfstream 30ft. Sleeps 6. Huge bathroom for a camper. Cold AC & Hot heat. Comes with the WDH. Only reason I'm selling is I bought a smaller camper to travel with. It's treated my wife and I very well. I'm gonna list it on craigslist soon for $5k but i would sell it cheaper to a member here.

I like it, seems like a reasonable price. Too bad i'd have to buy a bigger truck to tow it.

Yeah I bought a smaller camper so the wife and I could travel. That's why I decided to sell the big one.

Yeah i hear ya. It's a blast but it's pretty small compared to rausch which is 4 hrs for me. But the trails can be challenging. Idk about for your crawler but I'm not locked so it can be interesting. There is a part of a black I saw last time I would like to get another look at. Then there's some blues that are just tough. Mainly rocks. A few tight squeezes but I'm in a dclb and do it all the time. Like I said if there's snow. Very very good possibility of body damage. They used to have camping on the one trail. But they moved it to alittle easier spot. But I think the last event they locked the gate to the place at like 8pm sooooo ppl would be pretty much be locked in. :notsure:

Good. My taco is a 3.4 v6/manual trans. I towed it thru the Smokey mountains recently and i was surprised how well it performed. The Casita is only 2450lbs and i figure another couple hundred pounds in camping gear. I did the 231mm tundra brake upgrade also, so with that upgrade and the trailer's electric brakes i was impressed how well it stops.

I have the leafs off my truck which were saved during the frame replacement minus the AAL. I cut the center pin and clamps to remove it. Free if anyone wants them, otherwise going to the scrap pile. More than likely scrap.

I have a set if you want em. I got them off of @PCTaco over a year ago. And your post reminded me that I have never, and probably for the next few years I won't have time to, put them on. By the time I could actually put them on, I'd probably getting a new truck. LOL. Hate to have them just sit in my garage if someone could use them more than me. They are the 2+overload style. Other details about them in THIS post.

Let me know if you want them.
