Haha. Yup, that's where I'm working. I've worked in incinerators and flares, and am now a manager in the combustion rental department.

Nope, won't make it this year. Heading to Europe next week for work so didn't have time to do any recruiting.

I can tell you in MA that civil is starting to swing around. Developers are starting to call again that I haven't heard from in 5 years with land and bank loans to make something happen.

You made a good move. I work with several guys from the aerospace industry that switched. There is nothing more over spec'end and redundant that that industry. And nothing gets accomplished within several years on a project (thinking airlines). Now they are combustion.

I actually met quite a few AE's that made the move from aero industry to auto. I lucked out that it is my first job and its awesome...technology changes quick in auto industry and because it is so competitive that you have to change.

BSME, but it was only a couple extra classes to get my CG license. Found out that the money and time off was far better sailing than working within my degree. Been with TOTE for five years or so now.

Looks like we topped our active engineers.

So for all you engineers, how are the oil and gas prices hitting you? Any layoffs around you? Here in Oklahoma we are being hit pretty hard. Chesapeake schedule to have 1000 people laid.

Mechanical for me, BSME with automotive chassis concentration and a management minor then continued on (over a 7 year span) for an MSME. Working as a design/project engineer in the transit bus industry. I've got the fundamentals but new to Tacos and the level of chassis/suspension knowledge on this forum is humbling. I have a lot to learn in the world of offroad suspension.
