I dealt with this problem for months with no solution and I tried everything. I went away this summer for 3 months and it was hot. When I returned the noise was worse. I sprayed a lot of silicone spray in the holes, on the seal, and on top of the seal in the crack. Noise is now gone.

By "a lot" of silicone spray do you mean "more than a can"?

No. Start at one side of the door and stick the straw in the hole and spray for 1.5 seconds while covering up the next hole. Repeat through all the holes on top and down the side. Wipe any excess with a Paper towel and then rub this into the front of the seal and the frame seal as well. A can should be enough to do it 10 times I would think.

As I said up-thread, I have emptied a can in mine with no help. That is not the issue.

Did you try friction tape on the door frame? Here's where I applied it to eliminate the noise when the silicone spray didn't work for me either.

Don't waste your time. You cannot make this noise go away especially during the colder months. In the summer it would improve with certain fixes posted here but none of them solved the problem.

    What I've tried
    1. Silicone spray in the holes
    2. Tried tightening the door bolts
    3. Removed door panel looking for the culprit
    4. Friction tape along every edge.
    5. 303 cleaner and protectant
    6. Double sided tape followed by friction tape to try to make it tighter
    7. Pieces of paper slid up between the 2 seals when I closed the door.

Voodoo, I bought a 2013 Tacoma 2 months ago and I already can't stand the noise! So I just found your fix and I'm going to give it a shot. Just wanted to ask if you still think Silicone spray is the way to go? Or if you have gone back to WD-40?

    1.5625 seconds right?

In my case it is not the inside of the stripping making noise so spraying anything in the holes is pointless. I lightly coat all of the weather stripping on the doors and door openings in WD-40 with Silicone. I usually have to do this about every 10k miles.

Silicone was the way to go for me. Get it all up inside that seal.

Asked the dealership to lube it up yesterday and either they didn't do it and said they did, or whatever they used was 0% effective. It's just as annoying as ever today

Silicone spray (actually lithium grease) fixes mine for about a week if I stick to pavement, and for about 24 hours if I hit gravel :(

Had a similar problem with the seals (I think) making some noise as soon as I bought my truck. Complained to the dealer a couple of times and they finally replaced the seals under warrenty, worked great for about a year, now its back with a vengence. I wonder if its something on the seals when they're installed, like a oil or coating of some kind that is wearing off? I'm thinking of trying silicone lube on it.

Here's another thread we had on this a while back:

Sincere thanks from saving me $125 for a not needed door channel. Totally soaking in wd40 seems to have corrected the problem. Note: you definitely have to soak the entire "body" of the outer weather stripping to ensure complete release of the sticking. I even had a solid whistle coming from my driver's door (right by my freaking ear! UGH! Was losing my mind), and through this thread I figured out that the strip sticks together and creates a poor seal, i.e. The stripping sticks together creating crackles and by sticking creates a gap through which air whistles. One crackle right after initial application and none since. Thanks to all involved. This was one hell of a crackle to kill (with extreme prejudice).

Note: I hope the wd40 doesn't create a sticky problem, but the best option I think after confirming with my Toyota tech friends that silicone strinks that particular "rubber."
