I have the same problem with the BSM. I have a TRD Sport 4x2. Took it to the shop 2 times first trip they did a reset of the system. 2nd time i took it back they changed the side view mirror and that didn't work so now i need to take it back again.

Great looking truck! Can't wait for mine to get here at the end of the month. On your steps, it looks like maybe the dealership threw them on by mistake or added them afterwards and forgot? They're different than the 2016 factory installed predator bars - I like your version better than the new ones from the factory, pretty lucky :broccoli:

Today I left my truck to get the right side mirror swapped to fix the stupid blind spot system issue... I tried to tell them that a bunch of folks here have reported the same exact issue and failure to fix the problem by swapping the mirror but hey, the Toyota case said to do it so they must do it first.

At any rate! Took it home, had it working during the day. Come night I took it out for a spin and what do you know, right side isn't working and after a few cars the error message pops up on the dash. Totally expected but wanted to at least update you folks that it does sound like software and I'm waiting to hear what their next move is.

Luckily that feature was the least of my excitement for the truck so it still rocks!

Quick update on the blind spot monitor system - Took the the truck back into the dealer yesterday and now they say it is a Solar Sensor... Which is on national back order. So that said, no clue when they'll get the part in but I'll let you folks know once they swapped that out if it finally fixes the problem!

Due to the stock I really was only able to test drive two sports. I can't imagine it being stiffer but something I'm sure the other folks will be able to answer. Sorry sir!

My TRD Sport M/T 4x4 gets 21 mpg on my commute to work... Mind you its cruise control 55mpg in 6th gear the whole way. My best mileage so far is 21.4 mpg.

hey so question for you I know this is always being asked but I got my taco and love everything about it but would like to eventually make it it a 4x4 and when I got the truck I looked under it and saw that the trans seem to be the same and has spot on it to fit the diff and extra drive shaft and everything just want to see if I were to find a wrecked one in the years to come and can get all the parts off it slowly will it all match up sooo......all that just to ask can anyone send pics of the bottom side of the trd sport 4x4 to compare to the bottom side of my trd sport 2x4

before people start saying you can just sell and get the 4x4 for cheaper I don't want to do that I just want to get the parts little by little and iam doing my self just want to know if it will fit and need to see side by sides

Damn it. I bought mine from Hendrick back in October. I thought I got a good deal. I really like their lifetime power train warranty too

The BSM in my 3 week old TRD gave out today. At least it was kind enough to tell me. The tech at the dealer said the sensors are in the mirrors. They reset the system and it worked briefly before presenting the same warning. Most posts here indicate the rear bumper. Sounds like Toyota needs to get is head out of its bumper and get a real solution. Has Toyota acknowledged this? Any permanent solutions? I expect stuff to work and not be influenced by weather.

Problem was the rear right sensor on the bumper. Since they replaced it back in Novemberish it has worked perfectly! Unfortunately I think it was a bit too new for them to acknowledge it as a common issue.

yeah, it's a bit stiffer and less floaty. Only really noticeable if you drive them back to back. I love the way my sport drives

How are you liking the paint protection film so far? I didn't get it but may add it on eventually.

I've had it on some previous vehicles in the past and never had it show value but given this was put on the truck I ended up buying it doesn't bother me. I could take or leave it really. Maybe for the offroaders out here it would benefit more but then again I'm sure the offroading marks are like battle scars you want to show off ;)
