I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Good thinking, 2016 after a month on the market has a recall already. That is new Toyota record, and officially on par with Chevy Colorado.

I don't care either way about the looks. I bought a 2015 because it's been around forever and was available at a reasonable price.

Also, I will never buy another vehicle with a new engine design. I bought a Forester new in 2011 (with the new FB25 engine) and it burned and leaked oil. So frustrating. I'm not sure they've even completely resolved the oil burning issue as some of the new FB20s and FB25s burn oil. It's a shame, the car was fantastic otherwise.

Did not want a first model year vehicle. Nothing to do with looks.

I had been looking at Tacoma's for a good while but have all-way drove Fords, Chevy's, and Jeeps. But when I saw the pictures of the 2016's I went and bought a 2015 the next day, I like there looks a lot better, and think there prettier. I've had my 15 Tacoma for 3 months now and fixing it up the way I want her to be, and have never been more satisfied with anything else, still got my off-road Jeep, but she stay parked a lot more now.

Bought my 2015 and I absolutely love it. No regrets. I really wanted a 2016 but I could not get over the face of it. I just smile when I see the front of my 2015 and feel that I made a great decision since the front of the 2016 looks like a goddamn sea donkey. Turns out the low end torque problems/high revving engine would have driven me nuts and I am really glad I am not dealing with that. The ONLY feature I wish I had from the 2016 is the push start.

    Love my truck.

I bought a 15 because I think it looks better and its a proven truck. Oh yeah, my wife liked it more too. :anonymous:

I finally was ready to sell my '02 limited and was looking at the '16s, didn't love them didn't hate them either. But that '15 black TRD PRO, pulled the trigger immediately after I was sent a picture by a guy at the dealer. Done deal and love my choice. Couldn't turn down the trade in I got and walked away happy. Dropped by to check out the '16's and it confirms my choice for sure. It might grow on me but I still like mine better for sure.

Bought a 2015 last fall and decided not to wait for the 2016 for several reasons. First, I had a 2004 4 Runner I was selling and the buyer made me an offer I could not refuse. Secondly, when trying out some 2015, the dealer made me an offer I could not refuse for a n OR when my plan was to buy anSR5 for the same price. The new 2016 did not frighten me and I new they would be a better truck. I just didn't think they were $7-8k better as the new price, according to the dealer, would not be negotiable.

So, I liked the motor in my2004 and new it would be the same only with a five speed instead of the 4 Speed it had, and it had all the basic OR bells and whistles and options that I had not planned n having for the same price. It was all economics.

Bought a 15 because it's tried and true.... (I'm still working the bugs out on the HAVC system for the 16s so who knows what else needs tuning). Plus I got $8000 off sticker due to Toyota Tier 1 Supplier...

I Needed a new truck and 16's weren't available yet So naturally picked up a 15. I love it, its looks great and performance wise it fulfills my needs. The 16's look great but why would I want a smaller engine if there is no major MPG gain. Hopefully toyota will get it right with the next gen of tacomas

I got a good deal on my 2015 (bought it 3 days before the 2016's hit the lot).
Plus I don't like buying the first year of a new model run.

I don't think the Taco 16 engine is a new engine design......just a different Toyota engine that has been around for a long time as well.

I had been shopping midsize trucks casually for the last 18 months. Was pretty much deadset on a used 2012 or 2013 Honda Ridgeline. To get a certified 2013 Ridgeline I would have spent around $30k. Then I heard 2015 Tacomas were discounted to clear out for 2016 model. Still figured a new truck was out of my budget but looked. Found a Super White 2015 4x4 DCSB SR5 package, negotiated $29,900 pre-tax. That made it a no-brainer for me.

And I couldn't be happier. I keep vehicles a long time, and this may be premature, but I could see giving this thing to our 5yr old in 11yrs.
