    Unbolt the clip that holds the brake lines to the axle bend it up a little and weld an extension from the bracket to the axle... that's the cheapest way and you don't have to undo your lines

    But probably isn't the best way haha

    Just bend the upper bracket down. That's what I did with allpro standards and stock location shocks. They were like 9.75" or something. Take some channel locks and bend them down some. It may not look like much but an extra inch of brake line towards the center of the axle is a lot

    Has anyone re-torqued the propeller shaft bolts? Ive done just about everything else for 60K maintenance but this (plus or minus some odd small things) and just wasnt sure how important that part was...or how to get to it all (remove radiator im assuming). Any thoughts?

    That's what I thought. But the maintenance guide sure does stress it. Maybe they know something we don't. :notsure: I've gotta change F/R diff and Tcase oil this weekend anyway. I may look at it then.

    Take everything with a grain of salt. Things are written for liability purposes. You're supposed to change your oil every 5k miles or it could create catastrophic failure to the motor. Or you can do like one of Sarah's best friends did and buy a new car and not change the oil for 68k miles before creating catastrophic failure.

    As long as they tell you to do it, then IF it fucks up they can say "I told you so."

    Holyshit. I've never seen it, but I imagine the consistency of 68k mile old oil being somewhere between that of peanut butter and grease.

    I saw some lady come into work for an oil change and it had been over 30k miles and we had to poke holes in the sludge on the inside of the drain plug to get what little bit of liquid was in there to come out. Needless to say we sent her straight to someone else.

    I finished the Tcase fluid change today, which completed all the fluids within the past 4-5K miles (did the Diffs at about 55K just due to the timing of getting it regeared, so thats good to go until atleast 90K) and did oil/plugs at my last oil change (roughly 58K, coming off of a 7K oil change routine) and I always check my belts anyway, and all fluid levels (topped off my power steering fluid after never touching in 5 years/61K miles). I dont really want to recheck every bolt along the chassis (I agree with Gideon and think thats def one of those "manual says it to CYOA kinda things). Who knows, I may just retorque at the meet haha. All in all, Id say between 56-61K miles Ive completed everything within the 60K maintenance, at a fraction of the cost at the dealer. Yet another win.

    Yeah I didn't see it either but I would have loved to. I still remember, back when I was a rookie with cars, being nervous about my oil being dark when I drained it. Haha
    Sarah tells the story better then me but apparently the car just stopped running while she was driving. She had it towed to the dealership cause it was under warranty. The first thing they did was ask if she had done all the maintenance herself but they had no records of her coming in for any of the services. She said she has never had anything done to the car. They asked where she had oil changes done and she said "I didn't know you were supposed to change the oil." Haha

    It's a good habit to check bolts on things that rotate and vibrate like driveshaft, trans bolts, lug nuts, etc ...... But frame bolts? Haha ok
