I changed the plugs on my Taco last night. I pulled one from the driver side and ran up to the dealer with my sample. It was an NGK. The parts guy informed me that they use Denso plugs now. I bought six. I changed the driver side NGK plugs, replacing them with the new Denso ones. When I pulled the first plug on the passenger side, I noticed it was a Denso. The exact same as the six I'd just gotten from the dealer. All three on the passenger side were Denso plugs??

I kind of remember reading something like this on Taco World way back when I bought my truck but can't seem to find the thread. Any ideas why they'd do this at the factory? Were the heads built in different factories? Weird!

Hahaha, I guess it was explained above, but yeah, that strikes me as odd.

    No.

They split between Denso and NGK and maintain them as suppliers. They have always done this on the Tacoma six bangers.
